My little one has just been given Zantac for her reflux. How long until we should be seeing results from it? Has any one tried it and had great success? She is 5 months old and is waking at night every 1 - 2 hours from reflux.

Worked fabulously for us. Darcy was on it from 5 days old, but it does take apporx 2 weeks to get the levels up to the appropriate measure so you won't see results immendiately.
It worked for us also for our DD. She was 8 weeks old when she was diagnosed with reflux and it took a good week to see some results but we ended up having to up the dose and found results within 3 days. It was the best thing for us. She was on it till she was 15 months old.
What would be the best way to get her to swallow it? She scrunches her nose up and spits it out and I don't know how much she is actually getting!
Definitely worked for us, and quite quickly (4-5 days from memory). It has an antacid effect as well as the longer term acid-reduction, so it can be quite soothing from early on. We always gave it using a syringe, squirt into the cheek, it should go down ok.
my dd#2 stared on it at 6weeks of age took about 4 days to work and used a syringe to give it to her she was having it 3 times a day can't remember does though, was a life saver for me.
My DD was having it 3 times a day too (can't remember the dosage either) but we used a syringe and put it in the side of her mouth and as far back as we could (without choking her). I have to say, it tastes terrible but she did get used to it and after a few weeks it wasn't a struggle.
Exactly what the other girls have said or otherwise use a thinninst syringe (I assume she's not on a huge dose) and wait till she's sucking a dummy and suirt it in the side then.
I tasted it when I gave it to Darcy - it's really really awful - no wonder they initially spit it out. She will get used to it though.
