My stitches have been painful the last 2 days but only when I sit down. If Im standing, walking, lying, etc they are fine and Im not sitting on hard surfaces
Is there anything I can do for this or will it pass?

To help with healing, get some Arnica from a chemist/health store. They are very cheap, and I am sure they helped reduce my bruising and swelling very quickly after surgery - many people find this. They disolve on your tongue and are usually coated with lactose so its sweet sort of.
Also keep up your salt baths.
I wasnt told to have salt baths, do you have to get special salts?
Nope, salt as in salt and pepper, not relaxation salts. Sea salt is good.
Thanks Kelly, I will try them this afternoon
Salt baths are really good. Bit of a grrrr that they didn't tell you that about your stitches Sal! Are you going pad free for a little bit to let it dry out down there? I got pad rash :( Probably from being a bit damp most of the time or a sensitivity to the pads after wearing them so much (I reccon I know what bubs feel when they get nappy rash!).
I'd wear the oldest knickers I had (or get some cheap ones) so I didn't care if they go a bit of blood on them and risk dripping a bit.
I think that as part of the healing process there is kind of a hump in that it gets a bit worse before it gets better too.
Have 2 salt baths a day if you can, and dry ur stitches thoroughly (sp?) with a hairdryer (on cool setting of course!) Getting your vjayjay out in the sun can help too if you can ;)
HTH :)
Just a note on salt baths.. only sit in them for max 15 minutes otherwise it can send you scar/stitched area soggy. My stitches have been quite sore too until my doc put me on antibiotics for that other reason was talking about in our BBs but also because they were quite inflammed. But if they do get really sore and swollen like, get them checked out to rule out an infection in the stitch area too and try and sit back on your bum when sitting, rather than on your hoohaa iykwim.
Mine started to feel a bit sensitive/itchy after a couple of weeks. Turns out the skin was just healing up.
One thing I found helpful was to have a spray bottle of water for when I went to the toilet - I would spray the stitched area then just pat it dry, so it didn't get irritated by wiping. Hope you are feeling much better soon.
If you have to sit for awhile, say for BFing, then try this.....
Roll up two not-too-big-towels, and sit on them with them running lengthwise under your thighs. It's like sitting on a cloud LOL!
Thanks for all the helpful advice
Im pretty sure its not infected coz it only hurts to sit, I had antibiotics up until 4 days ago to prevent infection. I think its just healing
