What would you dress your son in for his Naming Day?
We are planning a Naming Day for Sage that will be combined with his 1st birthday. I'm not too sure what to dress him in. Any advice is greatly appreciated :D
Oh in saying this his birthday is in October and it will be held outside at home.

I've never been to a naming day so I'm not really sure what the protocol usually is - but on the birthday side of things, I would think something a bit dressy so everyone knows he's the birthday boy :)
I guess its up to you how far you go - some nice pants/jeans and a button shirt - maybe a cute vest or something? I would go something dressy yet comfy so he can still play :)

Jack was 20mths at his christening I got a lovley white linen dress shirt and a lovley pair of light denim jeans ....
Mako, most naming days I've been to the little ones are just dressed in a nice outfit, so a nice shirt and jeans or pants would be fine I think.

Thanks for the replies. I thought about jeans but wasn't sure if they'd be dressy enough but by going on what you all have said maybe they'll be the go :D

You could do whatever you liked really. A little suit or a shirt and nice jeans for a more casual feel. Or a christening gown if you wanted a more formal look and then you could change him into his birthday clothes for his birthday. It's really up to you.
Bit different situation, but I was a bridesmaid when ds1 was 1 yr old and he came to the wedding. We dressed him in navy pants and a button down shirt as I thought jeans were a bit casual.
If you get him a nice, well made, gender neutral white gown for his naming you can reuse it for any future siblings and then hand it down to your children should they want it.
DD had a christening but this baby will have naming day - I was just going to use the same dress - my mum made it so its a little special :) )
You can get some really lovely shirts from Myer for little boys - they look like shirts that are for mens dress suits but in much smaller sizes ;)
Very cute - we've bought some nice ones for Luke on different occasions - and they have them in lovely colours - they also have a great variety of linen pants, too :)
For DS's Christening, he wore a white gown over a white bodysuit. And his big hairy monster feet because DH loved those and put them on just before we left!
Afterwards he wore some smart trousers and a nice shirt from Pumpkin Patch.
For the weddings this year he has a suit - trousers and a waistcoat. He also has a few nice shirts and a child's tie to wear. That looks great and the tie, because the knot is so much material, it's great - it stops ALL teething dribble from attacking the outfit. DS is a terrible teether and I was thrilled with this discovery, although the tie was sodden when we took it off.
