sore uterus months after stillbirth

hi,
i'm a newbie to this site and not sure where to post this....so i apoligize in advance if i havent got it right.....i'm just wondering if other ladies have experienced what i am experiencing.Somewhere someone has had this happen to them....

On 23.04.08 we gave birth to our first child, while on a routine check up we discoverd no HB. I was induced the next day with a pessurie inserted well into the vagina(dont remember name of drug)
3 weeks later i came back into cycle and had my first AF...Ever since then i have had a sore uterus...The first few months the pain was quite bad now it seems to only come in with the cylce around ovulation...The pain is felt when i stand from sitting on a low chair or when i laugh, last night i even took panadol to help me work as i was walking with discomfort....Its definately my uterus and is not ovulation pain....I have mentioned to ob when i first had pain and he told me that after a woman gives birth her uterus sits lower and i may be feeling things i havnt felt b4....
I also know its my uterus as doing pregnal with ivf fet transfer last month i was having contractions in my vagina...wierd i know even last night i swear i was having very slight contractions deep inside the vagina...

Has any ladies experienced simular pain and how long did it last...

Firstly, I'm so very sorry to hear about the loss of your baby :hug: I too know that pain so you will find BB a wonderful place for support.

I haven't experienced the pain you mention, I would suggest going back to your OB or Gyn because it sounds like it is worth checking again.

Hi Cara, welcome to BB. I'm so sorry for your loss. I too think it would be a good idea to get checked out. If your OB doesn't think it is worth worrying about, I'd get a second opinion elsewhere. You shouldn't have to just put up with pain like that - you should be able to get some sort of better explanation at least!

I am very sorry for your loss. I just wanted to let you know that I has a similar situation after my first loss. I had a D&E with my son at 22 weeks. I was in pain for about 3 months. It was the worst a week or two before my period. I had sharp pain and a ton of awful cramps. The contractions lasted a couple of months too. My doctor told me it was everything shrinking back down to normal size. You should get it checked out just in case, make sure it isn't an infection. :hug:

Regarding your pains - Did the placenta come out intact? I too was having pains after I lost my little boy at 21 weeks and it was discovered that I had a swollen uterus, retained products and an acute infection which required 2 curettes and almost 7 weeks of antibiotics to cure - but before that was diagnosed I was also told it was my uterus contracting and shrinking back. Ask your OB to give you an ultrasound or get a second opinion. Good luck hun and sending you lots of hugs. I hope the near future brings you your much deserved baby x
