Saw OB today and Bub is still not engaging i'm getting so big and uncomfortable.:wall:
I've been getting pains down low and up my vajutz, the baby hurts me when it moves sometimes.
Has some one got some advice cause i'm loosing it i'm getting really tired and emotional:(. All amidst renovating our unit so stressful:wall:. Please help.
What i forgot to mention is that my ob said c-section may be needed. I really, really, really don't want one. I have my heart set on a natrual birth.
Firstly;
Pfffft WHY did your ob say you would need a c-sec?
Obstetricians are trained THEATRE specialists, they like to scaremonger and give you the scariest parts of information to get you into a c-sec because it means more money for them.
As for the not engaging check out spinningbabies.com.au - they have lots of exercises suitbale for giving you and bub the best position for birth - it may not help him/her engage but it's worth a try. Try not to stress some babies don't engage until well into active labour.
And don't let your Ob scare you, come here for support first ;)
:hug: it's an emotional thing this growing babies business without the added stresses. Like cookiemonster said, some babies don't engage until active labour is established. There is still time before you get there too. I'd also be interested to know why your ob said you might have to have a c/s???

I know all too well the difficulty of the last few weeks/days of pregnancy hun, its so hard. I remember laying in bed at night with my DS#1 crying and crying because i was so uncomfortable and sore.
Have you thought about getting a nice massage and investing in a cheap foot spa for these last few days? Its so worth it. Take time out hun, pamper yourself and rest up. Renovations are hard at the best of times, but you have to rest before the baby comes, you wont have time to scratch your bottom once he/she is here.

Ok, my opinions is ask for a u/s this will give your ob a clearer picture of exactly where bubs is, and make sure you make it really clear to him/her that you DONT want a C-Sec unless its an emergency (unless you change your mind before then, but if i was you i'd give it a go the natural way)

Neither of my girls actually 'engaged'. They were both in the downward position but would bob in and out of the pelvis. A midwife friend of mine commented that they usually lock in place but it wasn't that uncommon for them to hold off until labour commenced. I'm sure everything is fine with your pregnancy and baby. :hug:
Try not to let your OB scare you. I believe that often they think out loud without realising the impact they have. I know with DD1 my ob continually told me I was having a big baby and then wham! at 31wks suddenly it was very small... WTF, I had only seen him the previous week so how would baby have shrunk suddenly. Incidently she was 3495gm so not small at all just good size for girl.

Even if you just have a nice steamy shower with something that smells nice, it helps. The last two weeks of my pgncy you couldn't get me out of there. Sometimes DH would come in and get the places I couldn't, it was lovely to feel so cared for. Maybe you could do that?
Hang in there, you're so so close. The feeling in your pelvis sounds like how I felt just before. It will probably get much more uncomfortable before it gets better. Think of it this way- our bodies get so uncomfy til we think we're going to lose our minds because otherwise, how could we face labor? :lol: I won't tell you to rest and not to worry because I know its fruitless.. Be kind to yourself. Why dr. tell you a c sec necessary??
Hang in there hun i know its hard this late and all you wanna do is have the baby i was told i had to have a c-section and i had no choice but i had my twins naturally and i stressed for ages about the c-section but dont always believe what drs tell you theyre not always right... big:grouphug: for you...
Neither of my last 2 engaged before labour. Both were born naturally.
I have 2 friends that had twins naturally after being told they would both have a ceaser at 32 weeks. Apparently standard practice for the OB they were seeing. One had hers in Sydney at 32 weeks anyway, the other had hers at 38 weeks after I told her to refuse the ceaser unless an emergency.

just thought ild let you know but none of my babies ever engaged ontill i was in established labour and waters had gone not even my first baby engaged Ive had one c section for fetal distress not size related at all my second was a vbac he was 10.2 pounds so about 4.6 kg i think huge Im only little 4ft 10 I have had the pain your describing now on my last baby and this one and my third labour was a dream 2 hrs 15 minutes love a repeat of that compared to my first two wasnt even time for an epidural LOL so I hope to avoid one this time as well as i felt so much better after the baby was born when I didnt have one:
dont be talked in to any thing you dont want you might be like me have a nice cushion of water keeping the head up but doesnt mean baby cant come out ask your self how you feel about having the baby I knew my second son was way bigger but I remember thinking I can still do it and I did and he was huge chances are baby is thinking about making thier presence know and thinking about coming ask your doc for a sweep may be to help things along plus if you are doing a lot with your unit that will add to your tiredness and pain hope your feeling better now though :hug:
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, a friend of mine told me she got on to all fours and rocked back and forth slowly.. not sure if this will help and you should obviously do some research before trying :D hope it helps?
