Sore Boob
Hi Ladies,
My name is Dee and i'm extremely excited that i've made it to the second trimester
I've got a questions re: an extremely sore boob. Last night I had a little pain in my right boob, but this morning i've woken up with pain from my underarm to my nipple, and the area when I massaged it is hard, lumpy and sore. DP reckons it feel like i've pulled something!
Its only my right boob, and right now feels like someone is jabbing needles into my nipple and has kick me hard 10 times. Bit uncomfortable!
Has anyone else had this and its been nothing to worry about? The midwife said that its probably just my boob 'growing' and the glands, but said to see my GP. I'm at work and can't really leave right now. She didn't seem too concerned though.
Is it something I should be worrying about? I'm a little concerned about mastitis. I've just bought some maternity bra's cause I was told that by now, I shouldn't be wearing underwire. It seems a little ironic that I've just changed to wearing comfy maternity bras and then this happens!
Any thoughts?
D

I don't know if you can get mastitis at this point, but it certainly sounds like it. I would go to GP as you may need antibiotics if that's what it is. Good luck, hope it improves soon xox

Thanks Webbmeg and Hollye
The pain seems to be travelling which makes me think its a blocked duct as I've been subtly massaging it throughout the day! I think i'll just get DP to give me a good massage tonight, and see if that helps ;) Don't think he'll object!! If not, i'll visit the GP tomorrow.

i have been having those pains to in my right breast i had a lump removed from that breast a few years ago now,(only a blocked milk duct thanks goodness) i have been massaging mine like you have been and seems to be helping a bit,i also find that having a warm face cloth over the sore spot helps a bit to not hot just a warm one and when massaging not to push to hard.
I hope this helps and you find something to help you soon.
