Hi all,
DD is 13 months old and lately we've noticed she has bad breath. Is this normal? Is there anything we should be doing to avoid this? We do a quick clean of her teeth in the bath (no toothpaste), but that's really all.
Thanks!

Stomach upsets can cause bad breath. Are you sure it's coming from the mouth? If she has something stuck up her nose or in her ear, that will cause a bad smell too.
It could be a sign that she's sick, or getting sick. When Nina had tonsilitis once, the first indication was bad breath.
Bad breath is a sure sign that Olivia is getting sick or has a cold.
My DS has had a cold for the last few weeks and had bad breath for a few days there. It's gone today, im hoping thats a sign that the cold is finally on its way out too!
My DD is a really stinkypottymouth when she's teething.
Bad breath can sometimes indicate constipation too...
you have loads of things it could be here !
My DS has bad breath occassionally and although I can't seem to link it to anything it does seem to be the same times he has an upset tummy...he had really bad reflux till he was 16 months and has lactose intolerance so he's always had an upset tummy. We give a good tooth brush at night and try in the mornings too which does help a bit. :)
If it doesn't clear up, I'd be taking her to the dr to check as there could be a problem with teeth, throat, nose or sinuses. Your dr will do a thorough check to rule out any issues.
