do anterior placentas=posterior babies?

in light of a thread in 2nd trimester pregnancy https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...-placenta.html

i was wondering a few things related to having and anterior placenta!

-how common is it to have a posterior baby if you have an anterior placenta?
-is there a common link?
-was your baby posterior most the pregnancy
-did it turn just prior or during labour?
-did having a placenta make no difference at all!

i mean it makes sense due to the way the baby would face, (facing the placenta)
just wondering peoples experiences with this!

Both Charlie and Lexie had anterior placentas and neither were posteria babies.......

I find this hard to explain, but I think that the article I read said something along the lines of.....

They kept track of all the posterior presentations at birth, and then looked at whether the placenta was anterior or posterior, and more of the posterior birth presentations had anterior placentas....

It didn't say that if you had an anterior placenta you would present posterior, or vice versa, just that it statistically more likely...

Does that make sense????? I have looked to find the study but for the life of me I cant find it....sorry....

Jols, I had an anterior placenta, and DS was firmly posterior for some weeks before the birth, and didn't turn when being born. But he was pretty badly malpositioned, with his head wedged in my pelvic cavity, .

I'm no expert, but I seem to recall 'reading' that you have a slighty increased chance of having a posterior bub if you have an anterior placenta. But I wouldn't worry about it! And hang out on Spinning Babies if you're concerned down the track!

DD had an anterior placenta and she was anterior, DS had a prosterior placenta and he was prosterior.

Claire had an anterior placenta and she wasnt posterior at any of my antenatal checks nor my labour. I was told though that postereir babies do have anterior placenta more often than they have posterior placenta.

yep had anterior and bub was posterior for most of labour, she turned though.

It's thought that some babies prefer to face their placenta, hence why you have anterior placentas' and posterior babies. I have only ever had posterior placentas and I had two posterior babies, two anterior ones.

i guess i 'll have to wait and see!!
