HELP! Pram wheel puncture?

OK, ladies, just scored a flat wheel on my beloved Emma, courtesy of several 3-corner-jacks. I suspect it's actually several punctures based on how quickly the wheel went down.

Now this usually falls in the category of "things I soooo do not want to deal with and anyway that's what husbands are for" (I know, I'm an embarrassment to the sisterhood). So in my current state of temporary singlemammaness I'm keen to do the next best thing and pay someone to do it.

So my question is - where can I get this done?
At a tyre place?
At a bike shop?
Some other mysterious den of everything to do with prams?

Just thought I'd ask before ringing around to save myself from being laughed at by big blokey men who deal with "real" tyres.

try a bike shop
they should be able to fix it on the spot or tell you where to go
otherwise google your pram type and puncture and see what comes up- if you need to replace the tube, you might have to get a new one from a pram shop

A bike shop will help you out get them to show how to do it with a at home puncher kit it shouldnt be to hard to do your self it happens again... Otherwise drop in on one of your GF and get her hubby to do it....

I too am hopless at this stuff and I too am a part time single mum with better pay LOL as BHL is a FIFO hubby....

I'd go straight to the shop and ask BUT I bought the pram on ebay so not even sure who sells them locally (if anyone). Odette, have googled but there are not any local (Austn) references to the brand, it comes all the way from Sveeeeeeeden!

Tali, Oh I've already picked a GF with a mad-bicycling-keen DH as my fall-back position. LOL Just a bit embarrassed about "needing a man". :redface:

I actually know how to do the home puncture kits but don't know how to get the tyre off as the rims are quite high. Plus I resent having to do it in the first place as DH should be here but instead he's off galivanting about saving the rest of the world!!!

I think I'll phone the bike shop first and see what they say.

I would ring the bike shop and have the measurements of the wheel ready.. They should be on the tyre itself...

MD we have had the same thing and DH took it to a bike shop in fyshwick - they were happy to fix it and even gave us a spare 'inner' - whatever that is!!!
Dont be embarrased - as I said my DH took our pram into the bike shop!!!

My DP works at Tyre Power and he has several ladies come in during the week to get the punctures fixed.

I've got the wheel off so it should be pretty easy for them to do it, I guess.

I'll try to suppress my "maiden in distress" vibe when I go in ROFL!!

MD - got one for my P&T done at the local bike shop (we didn't have an outside puncture just a blown tube due to over inflation but similar theory) for $10 supplied and installed. it was $5 just for the tube and $5 to put it in and on the rim while I waited(which can be a pain if you don't have the gear due to pinching the tube as you pull the tyre on the rim). Can't remember where you are at the moment but if you are in Nth Qld let me know and I can PM you the name of the place.

Thanks Jaspen, I'm in the nation's capital which is richly supplied with many specialist bike shops (all those public servants with lots of spending money and spare time LOL) so I'll find the nearest one and go there.

Lucky for me I insisted on buying a McLaren umbrella stroller so I have a trusty standby until Emma is fixed!

Strait to a bike shop,

We needed a new tube for our P&T recently and that's where hubby went, took the wheel with him, so they could get the right size tube.

Funny that this thread is here because we got a puncture on the right back wheel of our pram yesterday and I was wondering how to go about getting it fixed (my DH bought a puncture kit but I want it fixed today, not next weekend).

I shall try a bike shop too! :)

yep we had one last week on the bugaboo. i just brought the ol' girl down to the local bikeshop and got the burly blokes down there to do it for me...there is no way that i could work out how to get the darn thing off myself. i was happy to part with the $15.

Well, there's a happy end to the story.

I took the wheel to the bike shop and the very nice LADY fixed it for me! LOL

Taken care of by the sisterhood after all :D!

ETA, Sushee, def just go straight to the bike shop, the lady was saying that the smaller the wheel the harder it is to get the tyre on and off. It took her all of 5 mins but I bet if you try it at home it'll be at least an hour and some swearing LOL.

PMSL after all that it was a chick who saved the day anyway....
