Nearly 2 Year Old - Different Behaviour

Our daughter is nearly 2 and she's teething quite badly with 3 of her 4 molars. The teething could explain things, but it doesn't hurt to get advice from others.

All I need to do at 5-6 times per day is ask her if she "wants a drink, wants to play blocks etc - something really basic" and she responds with "Nooooooo" then starts crying for 10 mins and wants her dummy and wrap.

She hasn't been sleeping very well either and usually ends up in our bed - sometimes from 11pm at night when we aren't even in bed yet!

Sometimes when she is asleep, she's talking and saying "no, no no" and hits out at either one of us.

A few times she's cried in my arms (over saying no to a drink etc) and ends up going to bed for her day sleep before lunch even. Today she ate 1 strawberry and that was it.

Could teething be the problem for all of this?

How long has this gone on for Pelaja? Does she pull at her ears at all? Sometimes teething gives my bub a cold and an earache - many kids develop ear infections while teething. Or tonsillitis. She sounds like she might be sick, being all clingy and sad...have you tried children's paracetemol?

If you're not sure, take her to the doctor's, if it is a bad teething related illness, they might be able to prescribe some antibiotics to help her recover quickly.
Or if it's something unrelated, hopefully they'll be able to help you sort it out.

Poor mite, she sounds pretty down! I'd take her to the docs if you're not sure, if it's an ear infection you don't want her eardrum to burst.

I second what nelle has suggested. Those 2 year molars hurt them so much. When Nina's were breaking through, she wasn't herself at all. She wouldn't eat or drink, she would often throw tantrums for no particular reason. :hug: I know it's hard, and I hope it passes soon.

I would also get her checked out. I would also stop asking her questions, it seems she is getting overwhelmed at the moment. I would be just putting a drink on the table and let her know there's a drink there if she wants it or blocks out if she wants to play with them. Maybe let her ask rather than you asking just for a while whilst she is out of sorts. hope she's ok.

Jayden is doing a similar thing lately too....All I do is ask if he wants a yoghurt and he'll throw himself around and cry then say he wants custard, I'll say ok and he'll have another tantrum and say Nooooo....bot bot, D-D (bottle, dummy). I put it down to just his age and also having a new baby at home....could be teething, Jayden hasn't cut his molars yet.

Sounds like her teeth are hurting her, hense why shes getting so upset over having a drink.
We've just been through similar with DS and his molars. Just give her a little panadol when they seem to be hurting and making her grizzly. DS's molars are now through and he is a completely different child. So much better behaved and we now can go a day without a tanty!
