Sleeping bag in a bed...?

DH set up Isabelle's big girl bed(which, seeing as he cut the legs off is tiny and not far from the floor! :) Pic in my gallery - minus the sheets!) Anyway we were talking about whether or not she could still be in a bag in a bed, he seems to think she can't in case she falls out and can't get back in. I think she could and if she did happen to fall, she would wake us anyway and we would put her back in. She has slept in one since she was 8 weeks old, the only time she hasn't has been on super hot summer nights.
He is making a rail for her so the odds of her falling out are slim anyway.
Sooooo cutting a long rambling pregnant brain story short- does/did your toddler still use a sleeping bag when they went to a bed from a cot??? :)

My DS still has his sleeping bag in his big bed. He is 23 months and went into his big bed at 19 months. We tried him without the bag for a couple of nights but he actually wanted it back (anxiously pointing to the drawer where we kept them when we were getting him ready for bed LOL).

He has a bed rail either side of his bed (just those Target ones) and funnily enough even though he is a great climber it just doesn't seem to occur to him that he could climb out himself (unless that's because he's been trained by the sleeping bag because he's been in one since he was about 7 weeks old). If he wakes up he just lies there and calls out for us till we go and get him.

No problems with him falling out of bed. He has gotten twisted up in the sheet a couple of times (we put the bedsheet over the top of him to still kind of get him used to the way a bed works LOL) but now we've found as long as the sheet gets tucked in a certain way there's no problem with that either. And since we introduced a pillow he doesn't wriggle all over the bed the way he did around the cot. (And he sleeps SOOO much better in the bed ;)).

We figure we'll try and get him out of the sleeping bag over summer, but he's still got a bit of room in the bottom so no hurry.
