I sent DD's off about 4 weeks ago, they charged my credit card for it on the 19th August (11 days ago) and i still havent received it.
Wow, 8 weeks is ages! I think ours took about 3 weeks. Maybe you could ring them to chase it up...
I believe that our one took about 2 weeks to receive and another couple of weeks to receive our decorative one that we are going to frame. I would ring them and see where it's at if that was me.
Omg we still havent recieved ours we mailed ours 12 weeks ago, also havent recieved medicare card should they take this long?
I lodged mine the week after Emily was born, and I got it last week. So about 3 months. They were quick to take out the money for it though. And I ended up receiving 2 in the mail, but only paid for one.
ETA: abb - our medicare card took about 12 weeks to arrive.
Ours took ages!!
After we sent ours away, it took almost ten weeks for it to arrive. In that time they charged us too much money on the credit card, then informed us that the certificate pack we ordered was no longer available, and that since posting ours away the price had gone up, so they wanted to charge us yet again, even though they had taken out too much in the beginning.
So by the time we got ours it was about ten weeks.
Medicare took even longer. First they lost our details after bdm received it, then when i checked up on it, they got it sent out to us, on the card they spelt both mine and our daughters names wrong. So they had to send out another one.
DD was born in september, we sent everything off just after she was born and we got everything back just before christmas!
thankfully though, no one else seems to have had such an experience with them!
By the way, I would give them a call and see whats happening. It might hurry it along!
We recieved DS within 3wks and that was with xmas and NY in the middle. Medicare was a different totally we still hadn't got it when we went for his first lot of immunisations and only recieved it when we chased it up because the form hadn't been passed on from sorting out the baby bonus and FTA.

We got our bubs birth certificate within two weeks( from Births, Deaths and Marriages in Sydney) and a new medicare card took about four weeks,each state must be different,if you have been waiting more than a month a would definately check on it. Also ours came registered post,it had to be signed for,so no one else could collect it.
I got mine about 5 days after i posted it back.
I posted mine off on Thursday so it will be interesting to see how long it takes.... I cant remember how long it took with DD
about 14months!!! they were very quick to take the money out of my account - then as time passed i forgot about it till someone mentioned birth certificates so i emailed & it arrived within a week - no explanation as to why it was never sent in the first place
mmm..bit of a difference there. I just checked the credit card and they charged it out on the 16 July. Will give them until tomorrow and see if anything is in the mail, otherwise will have to email them.
We got our medicare card within a couple of weeks, I was quite surprised at how quick it was.
I think 3 months for mine and i sent it in the day I got out of hospital.
I actually forgot that we were waiting for the certificate even

Mine took about 3-4 weeks. I would call them and ask where it is, especially because theyve taken your money alreadyl.
Medicare card was really quick - took less than 2 weeks.
We sent ours off when DS2 was only like 3days old, and still haven't got it.
I didn't expect it to be fast though.
With DS1's birth certificate, it took foreverrrrrrrr. I'm not sure why.
