can i eat hotdogs?

we normally have footy franks on the weekend.
I dont know if i can eat them or not.
I know I ownt eat salami or that sort of meat, but there do these come in to it?

I think as long as it is cooked and is very hot it should be fine.

Not take away hotdogs that are bulk made with machines ie. Donut King as the machines aren't always cleaned properly and hold bacteria like listeria.

Homemade ones are fine tho :)

hmm. these are bought from the Don factory, and I think the high temp cooking kills listeria bacteria.
I'll have to give them a miss today though until I canfirnd out more. oh well.

I think what Beck means by "homemade" is when you buy the hotdogs from the shop and put them together at home (correct me if I am wrond Beck?). You can never trust the take away ones...
You could always just do a snag in bread?

I thought if hot its ok cause it kills the bacteria, hope so cause I have been eating alot this pregnancy!

I loved a good home made hot dog on a fresh bread roll when i was pg, covered in lots of tomato sauce and grated tasty cheese,the kids loved these on the weekends,easy to wip up when you are feeling tired too,lol.I always made my own at home,but wouln`t eat take away though.

Home made is fine! Just make sure its cooked till piping hot.

I was told to avoid Donut King ones for example (i had one at the beginning of pregnancy had no idea!! :redface: felt so bad)

we had them for lunch at home and made our own saturday. made sure the water was boiling hot.... they are fine to make yourself at home :)
