First AF after B/F???

Hi Girls

I am really confused as to what my body is doing at the moment, if this has happened to anyone else I would love to know.
Ok, so I have been b/f for 12 months now and no sign of AF. In the last month DD has dropped quite a few feeds. On Sunday night I had a light bleed, not bright red, more brown. Thought whoo hoo AF is finally here, but then it stopped. I didn't have any cramps.
Is this normal for AF to be returning like this? Does this mean I will get a normal AF next month?
I am desperate to start trying soon, so would dearly love to know if this is how the body starts up.

For me it was the total opposite. I BF DD3 for 8 months, then AF come about a month after, but came with gusto. Like I was watching tellie.. I went.. "hmm.. what's that". Stood up, made my way to the bathroom and I left a trail through the house it was that heavy. Insane!

My GP said to me (Ihad very heavy cycles from then on, when normally I'm 3-4 day gal) that pg changes your hormones, and sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse.

Mine came back when Claire was 15 months. I hd the same thing - first one was only for like 1 day too. Next one was maybe 2 days and the next one was "normal". So maybe it just might take a couple of months to come back to normal for you?

Mum of many - i was like you. AF came raging thru my body 1st time post partum. Im usually only a 1-2 day girl. 2nd AF was a bit better. 3rd AF was normal. Ive found with this cycle its almost a replica of my last.....thus i think my body is clocking back into normal cycles again...it will take a few cycles i would say....

Karina, I am glad someone else has experinced the same thing before. I was thinking that I should POAS to make sure it wasn't implantation bleed, but now I have read that you had the same thing I wont bother. To be honest I really hate POAS and seeing a negative, so I am glad I don't have to do it.

I have also been bfeeding until now (ds is 12 months this week) and just got my af back for the 1st time this week - it was extremely light and maybe 2-3 days...
am also thinking about ttc soin the same boat as you!

Fig - i had no sign of AF when bfing.
I had to wean DD completely at 7 months and then got light bleeding for 2-3 days about 2 weeks later... THEN a BFP the next day! mmmmmm turned out to be a implantation bleed not a period.
