Yup. Completely normal.
Don't freak out. :D
I hope it's normal, coz I saw it on DS's head for a looooooong time LOL. You could see it move his hair! I havent seen it so much with DD tho.
I wouldn't worry about it :)
Lol!
I freaked too.
I never noticed it before DS & I had 2 before him!! I not once saw or noticed it on the girls, but I've seen it heaps of times on him.
Honestly, it still spins me out!
Don't worry hun it's normal
Ditto everyone else it is totally normal. I used to watch DS' doing that too - mesmorised and a bit freaked out at the same time lol
*shudder*
It freaks me out just thinking about it even though it's normal. When its particularly obvious (some days it's more obvious than others I find), I just stick a hat on!!
Oh thanks for your quick replies! Thanks goodness it's normal, what a stress being a new mummy can be! Love BB!
My daughters head does it too, particularly when she gets excited!
Its really freaky hey! I am so glad he has hair now! lol!
I'm actually quite fascinated by it, just another amazing baby thing!
It is quite normal. I often think that its beating so hard we can see it because she's storing information in her brains ehhehe
TH reason that you can see the heart beat through the fontanelles is that intracranial pressure ( the pressure inside your head) fluctuates with each heart beat to compensate for the rise in pressure with each stroke of the heart.
If your baby holds its breath or strains you will see it higher than normal, this is just the increase in pressure.
If it is sunken it often indicates dehydration.
So all in all normal, just though i would give you an explanation instead of just agreeing with the others :)
Thanks for the explainations Sammiejane! The room was quite warm when I saw DD's head beating (!) so that could have been a factor too!
