HELP! Need BFing sleepwear quick smart...

OK so I've been looking for nice PJ's/nighties for hospital (next week). Preferrably with button down front for breastfeeding.

Do you think I can find ANYTHING!?!?!? I'd also like a nice bathrobe too (feeling a bit splurgey, but i'd like to look my best!). So i'm looking online now... I figure I might just have time to get some (needed by Monday pm - it's great I do these things so early... but i've been looking for yonks! :cryinglaugh:).

Anyone know any good sites that sell nice stuff? Or good shops in Melbourne? (eastern burbs).

ETA: oh and I'm fussy (maybe that's my whole problem) - I really really don't want to wear pastel blue or pink or nanna patterns! My soul is craving something in green... or brown or something a bit funky!

Ok and for Tan & SamiH, before you tease me :p yes I do realise this probably doesn't belong in Nursery Plannign & Baby Equipment... but as you know, I'm a rebel!! :dance:

:) Hehe hun! Have you thought about just getting a breastfeeding singlet to wear with normal pj bottoms or do you specifically want a nighties? I ahd a look on the Mothers Direct site and they don't have anything and I haven't seen much out there. I have a few normal nighties and pj sets that I will just either lift up or pull down depending on where I am. Breastfeeding singlets are pretty versatile to wear either on their own, or under other clothes.

ETA: Just googled breastfeeding sleepwear hun and there are a few sites like dangerous curves and also nursingwear that seem to have some stuff that loks ok! Queenbee maternity also have lovely stuff - excy but nice!

i brought some from Big W and Kmart... they had singlet tops with like a little cardi... Also had some maternity PJ's with the hiden part inside the top for discreete BF...

They have few nities but the appear a bit old sorry for the phrase "nanna-ish"

Depends on how much you want to spend... The HotMilk pyjamas are awesome I got the "Sugar Coated" ones & they are fantastic :D

I got my hospital PJs & button down singlet PJ tops from Sussan - they are nice & I still wear them now!

I wear normal pj bottoms with botton up cardigans, or just flannie pj's. If it's hot I wear a bf singlet, though only have 2 so have to rotate them pretty quick if it's hot for more than one or two nights!!

I agree about the bfeeding singlets over normal PJ's pants. I got my pants from Sussan too - they have cool designs. Are the Pj's for all the time or just hospital? I found that I got really really hot in hospital so the singlet was more than enough. At home I just chucked a loose t-shirt or top over for around house at night then took it off in bed cause we had heater on anyway. In summer I only wore singlet too. Still do actually!

I looked at Sussans. Twice - cos i was in denial that i couldn't find something. I guess I thought I should get button down ones... but everything just had a few teensy fiddly buttons at the top but but didn't go all the way down. OR they were shortie pj's and didn't have my size. So saying, I DO have two BF'ing singlets, so could use those... but thought I should save 'em for daytime mebbe.

The hotmilk PJ's look gorgeous, but I think my BB's are too big for them already (i'm an E already and I haven't got milk yet.. :rolleyes:) - their site says up to DD. Plus I'd rather not show quite that much cleavage. As for what i spend... I don't care anymore... I just want something I like!!!!

I guess I didn't want too much of a cami/singlet style - would like to be a smidge covered up for visitors... so I guess mainly I want something to look nice in hossie. Having it once I get home is just a bonus really :lol: I figure the hossie's are usually pretty warm - so i should look for a summery style.

I've checked Target, La Figure, Myer, DJ's, Sussans (twice), Kmart. Haven't tried BigW yet. Mebbe tomorrow :wall: and I saw some nice ones online at Beautiful Bellies, and they've an outlet at BrandSmart...

Hollye - Sussans did have some nice slippers, I shoulda got some while I was there.

It's at this point my DH would tell me that i'm waaay to fussy for my own good :cryinglaugh:

I wear bf singlets to bed NOW and have for the past 2 months - they stretch over my belly, and I get a lot hotter than DH so they keep me cooler with no ahem pants.

I have just bought some newer pj pants from Big W and Sussans, and replaced one of my BF singlets - the Bonds ones are weird I reckon cos some are padded (WT??) but I have been using the Target ones and they have lasted wonderfully - colours are a bit limited in black and white - but then if you get black and you have visitors they can't see your nipples through them like the white ones :redface::redface::redface:

I wouldn't buy a heavy dressing gown for hospital, just a lightweight summer one as they are hot, hot, hot and more for modesty than anything else - try Peter Alexander if you want something a bit more funky and flash.

I have a pastelly purple one and highly offended at the implication I am a Nana .....:p but I ain't gunna buy another one for 2-4 days :)

Look at Peter Alexander online for some funky pj's - you can always team them with a BF singlet

Myer have some on sale atm...they are around $30. I got a pair to go into hospital and still wear them now cause they have the buttons down the front. They have all sorts of colours and patterns and none of them are nanna-ish.

I just wore a stretchy top with pj pants

BAmbini pronto have some but they look sort of similiar to the Hot milk ones so not sure if they will suit your needs. They have a heap of other awesome stuff that is so easy to spend your money on.

I too looked everywhere, I looked at the BF ones in Big W but there was no way I was going to have enough room to get my boobie out through the tiny hole. I ended up getting some from Best and Less. They were flannie bottoms and long sleeve top with biggish buttons a fair way down my chest. Definately enough room to get the girls out. I still use them now but only button one or two buttons at home :redface:.
It is really for the nursing staff that you will have nice jarmies as even though I had an emerg section I was up and dressed the next day then just changed into jarmies after visitors had gone. The first afternoon I was in a gown, or maybe I changed into a button down jarmie top. I don't remember. Drugs made me a bit woozy. If you can get a top that is sort of fitted I find it ok to lift it up, the tighter the better though. With the Bonds Bumps singlets etc I found in the early days they didn't offer enough support overnight and I became very engorged. I found it was better for me to wear a supportive bra to minimise the fill a bit. After a month or so I was able to wear them at night. I am a DD cup. Just something to keep in mind.

I know you've been to Sussans twice belfie but last week i bought 3 singlet style (not straps) nighties that button down, in XL- hoping that these fit. They're about knee length on me (im about 163cm/ 5'2") and they look kinda cute. Only $20.

And I bought on of their new limited sleepwear range Annalise dressing gowns which is really nice in pinks and browns with some pretty cotton lace, which is very light, but has long sleeves. It was $60 but I think I'll wear it all summer long so worth it.

Good luck, I've been looking for a while and was thinking it was too hard when I've still got 3 months to go. Who knows how Big the bump will get by Christmas?

Well thank you for all the lovely suggestions. fingerscrossed, I think you inspired me. I went back to Sussans today ... woman on a mission I was! Honestly I don't know where my eyes were the other two times... picked up a nice light waffle robe (mocha brown with pale pink trim), some slippers (brown) and an aqua stretchy nightshirt with little mocha brown pattern. The nightshirt unbuttons down to a bit below my BB's, but I could easily slip a whole shoulder/BB out if I'm being unco with the BF'ing (quite likely :cryinglaugh:).

So I'm a happy lil' vegemite now! Just have to wash 'em and then baby is allowed to arrive! HAHAHA.

Thank you all so much for the help and i hope it's useful for others too! (oh and I got both things in L, so there's plenty of room for BB's full of milk - plus I like big robes!).
