Are all sunscreen safe?
Quick one... It is a gorgeous day in Sydney and I am planning on enjoying it!
I will be mindful of the sun as I know pregnancy does affect my skin and sensitivity but I am wandering if using sunscreen is all good?? and if so, are ALL brands ok?
I have Nivea Spray at home, so I would think, as long as you are not going for a real cheapy brand..it should be ok?!?! Surely, we can wear sunscreen whilst pregnant?

i'm guessing so? i know i've been wearing that banna boat one and its been ok. but thats just for me? i guess as long as it hasnt got arsnic in it or some other bad chemical like that in it, it should be ok?
its nice down here in melbourne too :)

I think sunscreen is fine but I'd be inclined to use one that is for sensitive skin as my skin tends to break out more when I'm PG.

I have thrown out our sunscreens that contain Parabens.
They can cause miscarriages (and have).
You can buy organic sunscreen. I buy organic baby sunscreen for my child.
Parabens are in so many things we buy (shampoo, conditioner, makeup, moistureisers etc). I'm making a concerted effort to discover the brands that DON"T use parabens, it really scared me when i discovered they can cause miscarriages. Many people get SKIN IRRITATIONS from parabens!!! how crazy is it that manufacturers choose to put it in things we put on our skin!!!
"Parabens many be listed as -
Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Propylparaben, Ethylparaben, Isobutylparaben, etc.. or it may be disguised with one of many names including trade names such as Germal Plus, Germaben II and Unigerm and the list goes on and on. For instance Germal Plus which contains 2 of the parabens plus a formaldehyde donor and Propylene Glycol (an anti-freeze agent)."
i would put the url, but that's not allowed on this forum, so you'll need to google yourself.
anything for a profit i guess. Sad isn't it? it would be nice to think that nothing dangerous would be allowed to be on sale. I don't really care how LOW the risk is, i've decided, i don't want to take that risk.
