Not sure how to handle this.

Well for the last few months now when i get DS up in the mornings all his clothes and nappy are off and more often than not he has wee'd his bed. And it's not that he has leaked cause the nappy is usually dry.

I have tried everything. He even takes suits off. He's really clever.

I just dunno what to do cause it is ruining his mattress cause he keeps peeing on it! He even gets a nappy change at around 4:30am when DH goes to work. But yet he still takes them off and wees in the morning.

Why is he doing this and what should i do?

When DD started taking her nappy off in bed, i put some knickers on over the top of the nappy and that stopped it.... tho if your little one can take suits off the knickers might not stop it.. worth a try. Make sure you get a bigger size to fit the nappy in and so they arent tight around his legs tho. :)

Yeah i tried putting a pull up cloth cover over the nappy but it doesn't stop him lol. No matter how many layers he has, they all come off.

Can he get out of his bed or is it a cot still? Try him in a bed with a potty in his room, explaining that "this is where we wee".

I know my DS can undress himself and take his nappy off, thankfully he's not done both at the same time yet, but can you get a large plastic sheet for his matress? We got a wee-proof matress for DS because we're anticipating this problem.

Some wise bb member said that she dressed her dd or ds (can't remember) in one of these swimmingsuites that zip up in the back :dunno: maybe that 4:30 diper change is a perfect time to dress him in a "straight jacket"

Though very clever, I'm sure he would have trouble unzipping something at the back.

I have no idea if this would work, but what about putting a potty next to his bed?

Yeah he is still in a cot and can't get out of it. I know he is not ready for toilet training because he really scared of the potty and using the toilet. I don't wish to push him with this as i know how hard it was for DD.

ETA: Hmm zipper at the back. Very clever. Might have to find something like that. Although coming into summer he may get hot? Oh maybe one of those bonds suits that have no press studs and have the opening at the bum?

My sister used to do this when she was little. Mum finally found if she put her sleep suit on backwards it beat her trickiness!!

Not sure if ur DS is in cloth or disposables but Mum tells a story of finding little Sis in her cot in the morning with the bedroom looking like a snow storm had been through. Sis had destroyed the disposable and there were little 'puffs' of filling covering the room :cryinglaugh:

EDIT: Snap Nadine216 ... seems my little Sis isn't the only one to get the 'straight jacket' treatment ;)

DS can open press-studs, so it's not always the great option.

Maybe just a bodysuit/vest type thing so your DS won't overheat, but the studs under the crotch will be awkward for him.

My sisters friends DD does this and she uses duct tape around the top of the nappy. She also says overalls on backward worked well for a while but i dont really know how comfortable that would be to sleep in.

Yeah, I was thinking about summer .... well, if you start NOW ... he MIGHT get out of the habit before it gets really hot. *fingerscrossed*

My dd has not tried this ... she is darn close to getting her pants off, so I'll surely be testing some of these suggestions for myself sooner of later :lol:

we masking tape Jacks nappy on as he likes to take it off...day and night

we found painters tape works best :)

sophie does the same!!!! we use cloth nappies so for all sleeps i use wool shorties tied in a double know over nappies, even if i do use disposibles!!
i too need something for summer that does up at the back, going to get mum help me make something!!
