TUMS worked for me, they were great...worked straight away. You can get them at the supermarket.
hi girls,
thanks for the suggestions - i don't really want to go out and I've already sent DF on a craving mission tonight but Mylanta is crap!!!!
I'm ok while I'm sitting up but the minute I lie down it's horrible.
Hopefully it'll pass soon....... :(
i had the worst reflux and heartburn for eating half a bag of sour worm lollies(u know those extra sour ones)went and got gaviscon double strength liquid(safe for pregnancy)and gaviscon chews for heartburn..is working!!! give it a try
Macca's shakes was all that would work for me (even if you not ment to have them...).
i used the 'rennie' tablets. i have heard that fruit tingle lollies work for some too.
hey guys,
thanks for the suggestions!!!
I ended up getting up at about 2am and making a blue heaven milkshake with about half a tub of icecream in it and that helped (I'l try and remind myself that it helped when I have to be craned off the couch because I am too fat to move!!!!) PMSL
For some reason all the antacid stuff makes me want to throw up- does that happen to anyone els?
For that exact reason i cant take anything! Mylanta, Rennies, Gaviscon etc...:

The minute it touches my tongue i race to the loo to vomit.
Not good when in labour....contractions, vomitting and holding onto my bladder LOL
hi kim,
how do you keep the heartburn bareable then?
I either try ignore how horrible it is...or Macca's choc shakes...or Big M choc milks!
If nothing works then fruit tingles *sometimes* help.....but alot of the time makes it worse..LOL
But milk products are the best for me...plain yoghurts or flavoured milk..NOT icecream though..dont understand that one
ive started with the chewable quickeze. forest berry flavour. but once it gets all mushy in my mouth i feel a bit gaggy trying to get it down.
failing that choc milk..... and a little bit of food every 2 hours. (usually carbs work best) i am dreading the effect of al this bread in the long run, but for now it is getting me through.
