Newly diagnosed with endo.. now what?

Hi Guys

I've just been diagnosed with endo via a laproscopy. While they were in there they removed endo from my bladder, pouch of douglas and one ovary. I dont have a follow up for about 5 weeks and i was wondering, what happens now? Will the symptoms i was getting of painful sex, painful periods, migraines etc go away? How soon till it starts coming back? I'm pretty confused...

Hi Charlie, sorry to hear about your endo. There are many drugs you can take which keep your periods away, thereby keeping the endo at bay. Your gyno would have told you about these.

For me personally, I chose not to have any drugs at all. All my symptoms stayed away for about a year and then gradually built back up. I managed most of them through diet and exercise.

For me, I had my first lap 8 years ago and was trouble free until recently. I started getting endo type dull aches before my son was conceived nearly 5 years ago but then they disappeared between children. Its only been since having my daughter 18 months ago and getting my period back a year or so ago that Ive started having a lot of issues again and thus, am off for another lap.

Sometimes its a long term fix, sometimes its not. I hope it is for you.

the symptoms of endo are those of a pattern of difficulty in the movement of blood (this pattern also causes pain where ever it occurs), post surgery and btn checkups there are some foods that can help with this pattern of health.

Improve Qi circulation

Basil, Caraway, Cardamon, Carrot, Cayenne, Chive, Coriander, Dill seed, Garlic, Marjoram, Mustard leaf, Orange Peel, Radish, Star Anise, Tangerine Peel (dried and boiled and drunk as a tea), Turmeric

Improve Blood circulation

Anasake, Aubergine, Brown sugar, Chestnut, Capsicum, Chive, Crab, Hawthorn Berry, Mustard Leaf, Onion, Peach, Scallion, Sturgeon, Vinegar

Because rarely is it that blood 'stagnation' patterns exist without some other feature eg heat/cold etc. it is advisable to consult with a doctor of chinese medicine for the best treatment (tailor made herbs for you) but the above foods will be useful and they are some things you can add to your normal shopping list to help in the short term.
Additionally regular exercise is very important but dont exhaust yourself. its the regularity thats important more than the intensity!
