Endo symptoms but no Endo?

Hi, I used to have very severe endo and had 2 laps to have it removed. The last one was in April (7 months ago). Since the lap I have been fine - had no endo symptoms at all - no cramping, no spotting. Recently in the last two months I have noticed some cramping and spotting, and of course thought that some of the endo had returned. Went back to my specialist (Dec)and had a check up/ultra sound and he couldn't see any, much to my relief!! He said the cramps were just normal.

Since then I've just had my AF (Jan) and had severe cramping (had to take some panadols), and spotting. We are trying to have a baby and so am freaking out a little. My question is can severe cramps and spotting be normal and not related to endo. I have always associated cramps and spotting with Endo.

Any help/advise would be great as I am quite worried about it all..

Hi Sherm, sorry to say but that is the timeframe I seem to have before my endo comes back, I'm starting to get symptoms again & it's 10 months since my last lap.

My understanding is that endo isn't picked up in an u/s if minor.

I am using AC for TTC (though I have also lost right FT) & hope that you have success soon. AC is not always needed, I have DD.

Thanks Tam for the response. I think you're right and my gut feeling too is that its come back but not in a major way.

Do you know if some of it comes back - is it better to have a lap or wait for awhile but keep trying? I did get pregnant straight after the lap but unfortunately miscarried in July. BTW what is AC?

Sherm - there is a bt called "CA125" that can indicate the presence of endo if the number is greater than 30 (i think that's the right number). Some endmetroma (bloody cysts from endo) can be picked up on U/S, along with pools of blood in say the pouch of douglas or adhesions tying up ovaries etc in strange positions.

AC - is assisted conception eg clomid (OI), IVF etc.

Thanks Tam. I guess the endo specialist didn't see any endo in the ovaries etc, and probably thinks its minor enough not be an issue fertility wise ( I hope!). Anyway, I have made an appointment to see a GP this afternoon and will ask her about the endo BT and check it out!

Hi Tam, had my CA125 blood test done and the range came back as being normal. It was 14 and I think the normal range is anything below 36. Obviously I was surprised but very relieved.. Am presuming its a fairly accurate indicator. Will still book in for another check up in 6 months time with the specialist. But thanks a lot for letting me know about the test.
