Missed 6 week check up

With everything we've had going on and DS's health issues, i never got around to having my own 6 week check up, DS is 10 weeks now. Is there any point having it? what do they check for? (I don't need a pap smear, is there any other reason to go?)

i never had one either. I think the next time i went to the dr was at 7 months post partum for a pregnancy test lol

They normally just check that your healthy and no problems...check you if youhad stitches....just general check up

Okay cool, don't think i'll bother then, the boys have been dragged to and from the dr way too much already lately.

One thing though, if i can't see my stitches should i assume they have dissolved?

If they dont hurt and u feel OK about where stitches were id not be to concerned.

I never knew mine had dissolved til DH had a look and said they are all gone!

I would still go. Check b/p, feel abdominals to ensure uterus has gone down, discuss birth control. I dunno, it made me feel better to go......

I wouldn't be too concerned if you feel all good, and had a straightforward delivery, plus bleeding and everything has sorted itself out.

I didnt go when I had Laila, this time I went at 8 weeks LOL just so I could get a script for the rod.. she didnt check me over.

Dont you normally have a pap smear at your 6 week check....(DOH maz forgot her's to)

Hmm i might just book in to be sure... i haven't actually dtd yet so don't know if all is okay down there :redface:

Maz i think they do usually do the pap smears at the 6 week check, depends when you last had one. I had them through my pregnancy.

I went for my 6 weeks check up after DS but totally forgot about it after DD. I don't think you really need to go unless you are having problems...
