I know people will fuss over pg women lifting, but I don't think lifting would actuallt cause a mc. It would only become an issue as you get larger and your centre of gravity changes. You have to consider that only a couple of hundred years ago people were much more physical with thier day to day activities than they are today. You should be able to continue at the same level you are now and slow down when you feel it is getting too much.
what do you lift? cant u tell them your pregnant? its not advised to lift heavy items at any stage in pregnancy and has been linked serious injury. This being said.. its hard to say unless i know what u are lifting.
You risk doing long term damage to your back and pelvis as the hormones in PG soften your joints.
I worked casual in a bottleshop when I was PG with my first and really regret that I didn't stop lifting slabs and cartons of wine bottles. Though it was work I was used to doing I believe it was a contributing factor to the ongoing problems I have with my back and pelvis.
I was told with DD1 no more then 5-10kg....
Fat chance of that happening this time with 2 young kids...i say just take it easy and lift with caution
I work in a plastics factory so I lift large crates that are full they are too heavy and people struggle with carrying them as is. I also pack boxes and cart them around. I normally work myself pretty hard but thats the only way for me to keep up unfortunately.I havent told them yet as I feel like it is too early but I am starting to think otherwise. Also they already have a pregnant lady there who is about 4 and a half months and she hasnt slowed down at all so I am worried they are going to expect the same thing from me. :(
With something like that Id be taking it easy. Because all the muscles relax with pregancy (in neck and back) we are more prone to hurting our backs. That would be the main issue I would think. I'd tell them and see what compromise you can sort out. xo
