chicken pox vaccine
I got the chicken pox vaccine for myself about 2.5 years ago. Only because i have never had chicken pox before. When i had my initial blood test for this pregnancy they have found that i still have no immunity to chicken pox. So basically, it didn't work. Is there any point in going to get the injection again?
I am also really curious as to why i have never had chicken pox. I have been exposed to it so many times in my childhood, but never got it. And now the vaccine has not worked. I find it kinda strange. Or maybe i am just lucky?

I had exactly the same situation! I have never had chicken pox despite being in very close contact to them many times so I assumed that i had natural immunity. Before I got pregnant first time around I got a blood test done and it said that I didn't have immunity so I got vaccinated. However a blood test while pregnant revealed that i still wasn't immune.
I found out that you need 2 injections 6 weeks apart and I didn't get told or reminded about the 2nd injection so it didn't work. I had mine done again when DD had hers at 18 months and this blood test came back showing that I had immunity.
Did you get the 2 injections when you had yours done or just 1?

Err just the one! I was never told by the doctor about needing another one!

That's probably it then! You do need 2 which I wasn't told about either
If you want to get it done then you will need to get the 2 injections all over again 6 weeks apart (not while pregnant though)

Oh great! That means DD will need to aswell because she only had the one too and we were never told about a second one.

I think it's only 1 for kids but 2 for adults so she should be ok.
