LTTTC after miscarriage
Hi,
I am new to BB and have only posted a couple of threads. Has anyone out there taken a long time to conceive after a m/c? I conceived within 2 months of trying but m/c at 6 weeks. It has now been almost 12 months but still no success.
I guess I thought it would be easy after conceiving the first time but it has been the longest and hardest 12 months of my life (and very difficult for my DH as well).
I know it is important to stay positive but it is so hard when AF shows up uninvited every month!
Has anyone else taken a long time to conceive again after a m/c? I feel like I am doing something wrong! :wall:
Best of luck to you all,
Mel

I conceived November 1, 2007 m/c December 19th and have been trying ever since...so needless to say we're coming up on a year...no BFP yet.

Hi Mel,
I saw your name over in TTCAML and then saw this thread so just wanted to say welcome :)
I had a missed m/c last October and we have been TTC now since November last year with absolutely no luck :( I know how you feel about AF showing up month after month, sucks doesn't it?
We are now with a really nice FS and have had our first attempt at IVF this month - the cycle ended up being cancelled because I didn't have enough follicles :wall: Anyway we have ended up having an IUI (intrauterine insemination) done and I am now in the TWW :crossfingers: Funnily enough, except for the IVF being cancelled this has been a perfect cycle, so I am actually feeling quite hopeful for the first time in months. I have had cycle tracking so know that there have been a few cycles in the last few months where we have not even been in the running.
Have you thought about seeing an FS though? 12 months is a long time to take to conceive even after a m/c, so it may be worth looking into. At the very least you could get some reassurance that there is nothing wrong.
Anyway, I HTH and all the best :) Hope to see you again in TTCAML ;)

Hi Megsmum,
Thanks for your reply and the welcome! It's so nice to be able to finally talk to others who are going through the same thing (although I am very sad for them) . My friends and family are great but my DH and I struggle a little sometimes as no-one we know is going through what we are (thankfully as I wouldn't wish this on anyone!).
I haven't been to a FS yet, going back to my GP next month as he wanted us to try for 12 months after the m/c to see if it happened naturally. He didn't think it would be a problem since it happened so quickly the first time.
I am going to insist on all the tests, if nothing more to put our minds at ease. I am cycle tracking and have been for the last couple of months (with BBT at fertilityfriend.com). Last month we did everything right (well according to my temps we did) and our chances were 'high' but still AF made an appearance - damn it! :wall:
So sorry to hear about your m/c, hoping your TWW ends with a :bfp:! I have my fingers crossed for you. :crossfingers:
I guess we just have to keep on trying and remain positive however hard that may be sometimes. Is it just me or are there more pregnant women in the world after you suffer a m/c? Not that I am not happy for them, it just another reminder of what my DH and I want so much but don't have. Although I always remind myself that their journey may not have been an easy one either.
Anyway that's enough whinging from me for one night.
Best of luck (isn't the TWW the longest 2 weeks ever?).
Mel :goodluck:

No worries Mel, I know what it is like unfortunately. My DH and I struggled very much after our m/c :( Plenty of people knew, but unless they have been there no one really understands.
The GP sounds like a good start, they will be able to do some basic tests like bloods on you and an SA on your DH. It will be a good thing to set your mind at ease.
Oh yes, I'm sure you are right about more pg women being around after a m/c! They are everywhere! It is a horrible reminder, and I just avoid situations where there are pg women and babies if I feel that I can't handle it. You have to do what is best for you.
Thanks for the good luck, I hope this is the one too!

Hi Mel1979
I had 2 m/c last year the last one a missed m/c at 12 weeks in November. We started ttc in January and still havent conceived yet. Over here in the uk after 12 months of ttc they may send you for tests. I would definately go see your doctor it may help.
