The best facial scrub for sensitive skin..

Can anyone recommend a good facial scrub for sensitive skin? These days I'm on a budget so am looking for supermarket/ chemist brands..

I have really sensitive skin as well. I use alot of cetaphil products as they ont irritate my skin and arent expensive. I dont think they do a scrub but I find that the nivea facial crub for sensitive skin is good. You can pick both these brands up from priceline for under $10.

You should be really careful using any abrasives on sensitive skin, and depending on your sensitivity, supermarket/chemist brands may cause a reaction because they use a lot of petrochemicals and known reactive agents (like parabens and sodium laureth sulfate). Nutrogena is a hypoallergenic brand.

A really good, cheap and easy to make gentle exfoliant is olive oil mixed with finely crumbled/ground sea salt flakes (excellent for hands), or, if the salt is too harsh on your facial skin, ground almonds or oatmeal. ETA: just mix to a paste - equal parts salt, oatmeal or almonds to oil to make a tablespoon of scrub

I use a really great natural scrub made by Natural Instinct - you can buy at most chemists, or online ;)

I use the miessence garnet scrub...it lasts for ages too

Hi Em, ... I have very sensitive skin & found the cheapest ' Facial Scrub ' actually in Priceline called REDWIN Gentle Facial Scrub for Sensitive Skin (Fragrance Free) & its' made in Australia, 100g tube for under $6 regular price :dance:

It has little Exfoliating microbeads that help with a smooth finish !!

(Has Sorbolene in it too !!)

I use it about twice a week in my morning shower (you don't need to use much ... about a finger tips worth).

Once in a blue-moon Priceline have it on special ;)

I do notice Priceline runs out of it quickly (must be popular) so you may have to ask about it :rolleyes:

if you really want to be cheap, buy some fine oatmeal from a healthfood shop- I can't think of the actual name - but its pretty fine. Put in some coarse brown sugar and use it in the shower - perfect for sensitive skin and will cost you maybe $4-5 for a whole heap - although it is quite messy. If you want a mask, then just leave it on for 10 minutes (although you do have to stay horizontal during this time)
