Think I may be....
Apologies if this is the wrong section...
Just sort of had to get my thoughts out in the air...going to the doctors today, for other reasons..have been off sick from work yesterday and today as well with a cold/flu type thing and want to nip it in the bud before it turns into a nasty chest/sinus infection like my poor DF!
But I think there is also the possibility I may be UTD.. AF was due, to my memory, on Monday (the one just gone), all week and nothing, but I may be out by a week, as I forgot to write down when my last one started  Also, when I had the last one I had just stopped using the pill, so then again my cycle just may be all over the place. Haven't done a HPT yet, I hate buying pads/tampons so am  to buy a HPT even though I know the checkout chick couldn't really care less! But it might be too early to test yet anyway... have been feeling a little nauseous lately and the last 2 mornings have felt a bit dizzy, breasts a little tender to the touch, but that could also be due to impending AF..
Don't know if I should be excited about the possibility or not, as I dont want to be disappointed if I'm not, and I know DF would be as he's wanted little kiddies for a while now. Just a few months ago I was like, nope not until at least next year, but we've talked a lot and I said I'd use up the couple of months I had left on the script I had for the pill and we'd just let nature take it's course. Didn't think it would have happened quite so quickly though (if it even has happened). So yeah that's about it...lol. not really much to the post... but do you think I should mention it to the doctor today that there is a possibility of it? In case I have to go on antibiotics or she gives me other drugs to take?

hey there,
it can be all so confusing cant it!! i hate that af signs are the same as preg signs drives me batty!! re just coming off the pill i do know someone else who fell preg first cycle off the pill so it is in theory possible but also possible that its just ur cycle changing due to not having the pill..
a home test whould be accurate now if u are a week late.. some say you can test as early as the day of your missed period or even before than (tho many women find they dont get a result at that time it depends alot on your body and how much hcg is in ur urine)
id mention it to the dr as a blood test is the only really conclusive way you can find out for sure and as u said it might affetc what medication he gives you..
your signs all sound possitive so my fingers are crossed for you :)

yeah i'd let the doc know (they can also do a HPT test there - they usually have them in stock - if you dont want to do the blood test...).
IKWYM about buying the HPT! i do too!! dont know why...just a little quirk i guess
good luck and hope you get the answers you are hoping for!

FYI most doctors will make you do a wee test if there is a possibility of pregnancy as they want an answer straight away if they are going to prescribe you something. They will charge between $10-$15 for the test usually (even if it is a bulk billing clinic). It's best to test yourself with a supermarket brand first as it's cheaper and less awkward. I personally hate having to do a wee test at the docs for any reason. Where I go the loo is in the waiting room and you have to walk past everyone with your jar, then back again.
For buying HPTs (or tampons, pads or condoms for that matter) without embarassment check out any newly refurbished Safeway store. They have the self check outs and no one has to know what you are buying. It's great.

So storm, whats the news :)

I agree with the  when buying HPTs - what makes it worse is my sister works at the local supermarket so I have to go out of my local area as I don't want any of her colleagues to mention it to her!!

Well, went to the doctors, she did a urine test and it was negative... but she said it still might be a bit early since I was only 4 days overdue for AF, not sure how far out the test she used works from. She gave me a referral for a blood test, and if AF still hasn't arrived by the end of next week to go and get it done. She also suggested to start taking folic acid/folate, so have started doing that.
Grabbed a HPT yesterday when I went shopping, spent about 10 mins in the aisle just waiting for people to disappear..lol
Still have really tender breasts, more than they would be if it was just AF, so I dunno
So there's still hope, if not there is always next month :)

Did a "Confirm" HPT this morning...there were two lines, the test line was pretty strong. But, in all my anxiety, I didn't follow the "after" instructions...like putting the cap back on and sitting it on a flat surface, so I don't know if it was accurate or not. Going to drink a stack of water and try again, this time remember to do it properly!

Good morning Storm,
Congratulations on your :bfp:.
Just wanted to let you know that most of the leaflets with HPT's will say it's not necessary for you to put the lid back on the test and sit it on a flat surface.
I would say your positive is a positive!!!! yeah. Good luck to you.

Congrats, you sound pregnant to me! I found the tests I took at the GP were heaps weaker than the HPTs for some reason!
I too wouldn't worry about not putting the lid on or leaving it flat. The lid is just so you don't get wee on the surface you put it on LOL and the flat surface is probably just so the test has the best chance of working.
Congrats again and no cold & flu tablets for you :D

Congratulations!!!!
take it from a POAS addict that is a BFP!:leap:
