what is going on with my DD?

has anyone got the wonder weeks book? what happens at 10 months? my DD used to be a happy little thing. the last week she has been a terror, gets really impatient and when i hold her sometimes she goes stiff and lunges backwards. what's going on with my little girl??

she is sleeping alot, could it be a growth spurt and who else has experienced this sort of behaviour with their child?

anyone? i need some answers lol :lol:

Could be her trying to assert some independence? they get really frustrated cos they know what they want, but can't articulate it!!

If you are worried though - maybe a trip to the GP will ease your mind

i dont think she's unwell, i just am unsure whether it is a stage they seem to go through at this age

My little one went through something similar at that age....she didn't want to come near me at all one day. I think it was what Arimeh suggested - they know what they want....just don't know how to get it and it frustrates them. I used to pick her up and she would get worse. I just distracted her with something else and she tended to forget what it was that she was throwing the hissy fit about!

i have found that it tends to coincide with growth and development. DD would get like this and then wham! start crawling, teeth, walking, talking or simply growing...hang in there, it will pass. i put it down to frustration. DD would go psycho as she would be on the brink of being able to do something, but couldnt quite get there IYKWIM. we had this for 3 days just recently (including wakeful nights), then yesterday she just pops up and walks. with no hint beforehand...

I know the stiff back and lunges! My DD has changed a bit too and I am putting it down to teething- she is just out of sorts.
