should I let her sleep?

HI all;
This is possiblly a silly question, although it doesnt feel that way to me!
Today DD (13mnths) hasnt had a sleep today and as a result she has had quite a few tumbles .... This arvo she fell and hit her face on the side of the couch and got a nose bleed from it! Now se is asleep, should I be letting her sleep? Could she have concussion (sp)?
Thankfully the nose stopped quite quickly, and after an icepole she was good again; its being two hours since she hit her face but Im still a little worried about her!

I would say its fine..

i would also say its fine.. but hay if ur worried about her just wake her up and give some big mummy cuddles. that should make u feel better. Mothers intuition is best, if YOU think shes not ok then maybe take her to get checked if thats what u want to do. Personally tho, i think she will be fine.. these kiddies are tough ones!

I'd say she is probably fine, but one way to check is to try to rouse her... so go and gently try to wake her and if she stirs all should be good. My friend who is a nurse told me that.

She slept for an hour or so, then woke up holding her head... So i gave her some panadol, dinner, jelly and after a feed she seemed fine!

It was justa very nasty fall! Shes tough, but i never realised how tough :)

I got this info from my dr when Steph whacked her head, and I was so worried that I took her straight down!

HEAD INJURY INSTRUCTIONS

Due to a recent head injury, you SHOULD RETURN TO THE CLINIC IMMEDIATELY if you have any of the following:

• Frequent vomiting
  Bleeding or discharge from the ear or nose
  Severe or persistent headaches
  A fit or spasms of the face or limbs
  Unusual or confused behaviour
  Difficulty in waking up

NOTE: Your child may go to sleep if they want to, however, he/she should be woken every ..............., to see if any of the above problems are present.

I was told that I should wake Steph after half an hour, if she went to sleep. I think the general time frame is half hour to one hour. If you aren't sure, ring your gp, the locum service, or the nurse on call service (they are fabulous!) 1300 60 60 24.

I hope that may be of help to you in the future (actually, I hope not, in terms that I hope DD doesn't bang her head too often). I also remember when I was at school that they would not give us panadol if we had hit our head. Maybe want to check this out too, I don't remember why though, something about concussions, just not sure on the detail....
