I have no idea hun - maybe you could ring the Nurses Hotline for your state?
Hope you feel better soon :comfort:
In later pregnancy, it can help your waters along to breaking - that's what happened to me.
Don't worry hun, coughing will not harm your baby
Coughing is one of DW's earliest pregnancy symptoms, and apparently in ancient Rome it was used as one of the symptoms of a pregnancy.
I dont think it will harm your baby but let your GP/OB/midwife (whoever you are seeing) know if you are concerned.
Just make sure you work on your pelvic floor muscles if your coughing is bad
Definitely don't feel silly for asking that question. I asked my obstetrician if I could sneeze my baby out!!! I had a nightmare where it happened and then was paranoid every time I sneezed, lol.
Krystie - i too worried about sneezing at the beginning when i was first pregnant
Don't worry hun, coughing is fine. I had a REALLY bad chest infection when i was only about 8-10 weeks pregnant and was coughing 24/7 and really badly to the point i would nearly vomit and my ribs hurt etc.... bub is still fine weeks later ;)
They are resilient little things and put up with alot.....
Oh sweetie don't worry I have had the same thought with sneezing so you are not alone  No silly questions remember
I've had hayfever so bad I've been sneezing all day and feeling guilty about waking baby each time.
But then if it made a difference to the baby, I'm sure we would know about it (think how many women are pregnant and have hayfever in spring or the flu in winter). So I don't think it's something to worry about.
It shouldn't cause a problem. Later on though it would probably cause some wee leakage. Been there done that.... not exactly nice.
Thanks for asking the question. It's helped me also. Glad to know that someone said coughing was normal. Very helpul! Thank you!
I'm not even 4 weeks yet. Just 3weeks 5 days. Found out through stick test on Tuesday 11th Nov and Period due on Sat 15th Nov. Took 3 different tests and all positive (had to be sure). But in last week, I have had flu like symptoms, fever, high temperature, cramping and so much coughing that I can feel it in my abs (and yes I definately need to start doing pelvic floor exercises already!!!!)
Does anyone know if cramping and bloating is normal at less than 4 weeks? (or am I likely to miscarry again - miscarried 16th Sept at just less than 6 weeks). I thought most people wouldn't even feel anything at this stage.
orangeicy, feeling symptoms similar to that of when your period is due is normal. I tested for pregnancy a day before, or on the day I was due for my period and it was positive, and I still got all the cramping symptoms that indicated my period was coming. But now, 4 months later...
I've also had the flu baaad twice and I have horrible hayfever. I bet I'm constantly waking my little one with all the sneezing (lets hope there's no payback when he's born).
So congrats and good luck! xox
Thanks HollyM for your response. I am a little neurotic and think I'll be that way until the very last day and then there'll be a whole lot of new things to worry about!! I don't think it ever ends!!
Good luck with the birth and rest of your pregnancy. It's very exciting news for you!
