lookin for kind help - how to start a carrer at cc

hi, I am a graduate in accounting. I am feeling that I do not really enjoy working at the office environment. I realised that i din't like it after I started work. a bit late though. I felt that I have the heart, compassion and patience towards kids. i have been sponsoring an african child over the past 12 months. i enjoyed playing games together with my 4 years old niece and teaching her wrtting words. Currently i am helping out with a child care for a church on sunday morning occationally.:) i love them, as they appeared so pure at heart, and cuttie. the kids there also brought me much joys.

however, i still wonder, whether a heart for children is enough for entering into cc . i migrated here from china so am afraid of language, communication, and cultral barrier though I am not afraid of learning new things.:doh: i don't know what other character or personalities that i should have to be a cc worker.

also, i am seeking kind suggestions about how i should start a new career in cc for my case. :pray: i am 26, came to australia in 2005, have been working for one year in a mortage coy. male.

Hi nigel, and welcome to BB. I am an early childhood teacher and have worked in childcare for 12yrs. Childcare can be lots of fun to work in, but it can also be stressful. It is a faily low paying job with few incentives other than the joy of working with children. If you really want to do it though it can be very rewarding emotionally. You could go to a chilcare centre near you and ask if they would let you volunteer, or call your local council and ask about working in local CC. It sounds like you have a little experience, so you could probably get a job as a helper or assistant. If you would like to go further you need to study at tafe or uni. Your background of having come from a different country and culture would probably be seen as a benefit as many centres are very multicultural. It is also a benefit that you are a male as many centres like to have males employed there, because it is such a female dominated profession. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask! Hi Cathie, thanks for your reply. I am currently living at Perth, WA. I am applying for a traineeship through the 123 careers recently, and will wait for their reply. I have applied a certificate III course of cc at Tafe as well, and will contact local cc as they suggestd. yeah, I am eager to have a taste of the actual working experience. i might have more questions to ask later.
