she wants to wear undies to bed ... HELP!

Nina is tt during the day now, which is great. But she wants to wear undies to bed at night. There have been a few nights where she'll wake up and want to go to the toilet at night, and many other nights she doesn't do any wees at all during the night, and has a dry nappy in the morning. But there are nights where she does do a few wees.
I've tried mcn, disposables & disposable pull ups, but she wants to wear undies. I've also tried telling her that they're her 'night time undies', and that worked for a week or so, but it's not working any more.
So what do I do, I think she's too early for undies at night, isn't she??

Depends. My cousins daughter started wearing undies to bed at night at 20 months old.
My DS is still in nappies at night, TT in the day and hes 3 this month and shows no sign of being dry in the morning any time soon.

If she is dry or goes to the toilet at night more often than not, then Id put her in undies at night and see how you go. Make sure to get some good mattress protectors (or garbage bags) and stand by sheets just in case :)

Put them over her nappy/pullup??

Tried that one as well. In the middle of the night, she'll take the nappy off, try and put the undies back on, but falls asleep before they're up! We found her the other night with no pants on at all.
I think we'll have to bite the bullet and put undies on her. Must get a couple spare mattress protectors and sheets I think.

I would put 2 spare sheets sets in her room, spare clothes and let her wear undis top bed.. Take her to the toilet before you go to bed or just go in and whisper do you need to go to the toilet.. I never wanted to do that with my boys but my youngest was very determined so we put night undies on and took him to the toilwt around 10 at night and we stopped it after a few weeks..

if she has say more then 3 wet beds in a row sit er down and talk about her body isn't ready to go so long without weeing... and so on and so on

I just went through this with DD1. She always wet during the night and still doesn't get up to go to the toilet. I got some of those mattress protectors, Brolly sheets, you just put them over the top of the regular sheets and if they do wet you just change the brolly sheet. Really easy.

For DD it didn't last long because she wet a couple of times a night and after a couple of weeks she decided on her own that she wasn't ready and went back to trainer pants. But if Nina does go dry she may be more ready for it.

What are brolly sheets? I've never heard of them.

just google brolly sheets.. But if you don't want to spend the money a showercurtain or lined tablecloth works too.. what we did there was put the shower curtain down and then a light blanket then made the bed.. saved the matress getting icky

I love my brolly sheets. They are a small waterproof sheet that goes over the top of the regular one. When they wet it takes 5 secs to pull it off and pop on the new one. The new style are great too because they can go in the drier. I found they are also really handy for sick kids and nappy free time for bubs.

When DS1 first asked to wear undies to bed, I was nervous, as he was pretty much like your DD - mostly dry but not always. But you know, he went 2 weeks before the first wet bed, and even then it has only ever happened a handful of times. I think sometimes you just have to trust that they know when they are ready. But we do have a waterproof matress protector on the bed jic ;) .

My friends DD was TT day & night at around 22 months.
My DD1 was 3 & 4 months.
My DD2 is 3 & 5 months now & not even close. She is still very wet in the mornings.
If I was you I'd let her go. She sounds way more ready to me than my DD2!
Those brolly sheets sound good, I'm off to have a sticky beak now too.

so glad I found this thread. my little boy wants to wear his pants to bed! We did manage to side track him tonight - but have a feeling that it may become a regular thing! Like the idea of the brolly sheets. they look great.

I'm still a little stunned that he is TT - he isnt even two yet...

How about MCN undies?

DS is dry 90% of nights, but the second he wakes up he does a wee. When we come to this, I'll put a night potty by his bed so he can just jump out, wee, just back in.

Which cloth undies do you use? DD still hasn't mastered the nights yet and not looking to any time soon. Currently using Happy Heiny Pocket trainers, but looking for something a bit trimmer.

Bambino Mio training pants for us - DS loves pulling them up and down. They're the same shape and size as pants (well, granny pants LOL) but have a thin bit of nappy towelling in the inside and a waterproof cover attached. They're only good for one wee, but as DS goes every hour and a half to two hours that's all we need - we only use them for "done a poo just before dinner time" now to get him used to them, but he loves them!

They sound good, thanks. She only really does the one wee and I'm pretty sure it's when she first wakes up in the morning, so she doesn't need to much padding.
