I got a BFP on Tues and I am off to see the Dr today... YAY YAY YAY!
I have to book in for a dating scan, when is the earliest this is possible?
I am impatient and want it asap - then this will all feel real. Think with DS I was either 6 or 8 weeks... cant remember though! tia
i had one at 5 weeks and they saw a heartbeat
heartbeat generally doesn't start until fetus is 5w3 or 4d - so LSK's scan at 5w might have been a bit later but baby measuring small. they're so tiny at that point, that they tend to have up to a one week window of error
as a rule, most places wont' scan until at least 7 weeks as the baby isn't big enough to see anything on an external scan at that time. i know of at least one BB-ite who was told they had a 5w sack, come back in 2weeks to check viability. it's better to wait a bit longer...
that happened with my first- sack at 5 Hb at 8. so i was amazed this time round!!

I didnt know with this pregnancy or last one when i was due , coz of b/f and no AF.
After i got bloods with Sam (which showed HCG at around 5 weeks) i just timed a dating scan for 3 weeks later, so at 8 weeks. You would have a rough idea when your due wouldnt you ????
yep i think i am 5 weeks now.... i just want a scan soon but i guess the bloods will suffice for now...

I had one at 8wks....still looked like a little alien, but was so good to see what he/she looked like already!
I've had 4 scans in total and it is just glorious to see how much he/she has grown since the last one :dance:

19wks morphology screening
30wks growth assesment

Preg - I'd go 8wks for a couple of reasons. If you are not as far along as you think then at least you'll still be around 7 wks and they can see clearly at that stage. My doctor recommends 8wks because it is a good time for accurate dating. Going any earlier can be disappointing if they can't see much.
i had one at 6 weeks and they could not see anything but a sac, so of course i freaked and thought straight away 'blighted ovum again" ....but all is fine!!!! i wouldnt go before 7 weeks just to be sure that there is something to see.
