urgent advise please!!
you may hbe been following my thread no AF.. but i got a BFP via blood test yesterday.. i went to a ultra sound today but im too early for it to show..
the ultra sound lady pushed down on my tummy firmly.. it was quiet tender..and did an internal ultra sound... this was like 11am this morning.. just now 4pm i ahve been going to the loo trying to do a number 2 (tmi i kno) coz i have cramping like im gonna have diorreah.. nothing tho..
i have no bleeding but im just wondering if someone could advise me if they got cramping after an ultra sound..
-
i've had a number of internal scans through the ivf cycles, and with all the poking and prodding, have ended up with a horrid tum more often than i care to remember
one thing to keep in mind - if you are pg, you're likely to get constipated - i find when i DO get constipated, when i finally get moving, i end up with an upset tum - so perhaps you have a bit of an upset tum, but a bit of a back log there too kwim?
-
thank you.. im a first timer and not sure what it would be like if i were miss carrying.. but i figured if it was tender when she pushed down on my belly that it could be just tender from that!
what is kwim?? i didnt think i would be constipated coz i used my bowels this morning and at lunch time.. but maybe i shud eat come sultanas tonight..
-
KWIM = Know what I mean. There is a list of common abbreviations in the FAQs forum.
I haven't miscarried, but I imagine it would be a fair amount of pain. When you are pregnant, the processing of things through the intestines slows down to enable you to absorb more nutrients back out, as you need to supply both yourself and the baby. This can cause constipation, cramping and other discomfort. The first time I was pg I had awful tummy pains for the first few weeks. I never found out why but I think it was just my bowels getting used to the changes. I would say that more than likely what you are experiencing is related to this.

amsta - some women get constipation others get diorreha (sp?) it just depends on the person. for the first few months of this pregnancy I got terrible stomach cramps on and off and all was fine. When i miscarried the pain was pretty bad and only got worse. I am sure everything is fine with you and it is your body just adjusting.

As a general rule, if you're not bleeding you're safe (and even if you are bleeding, things could very well be normal anyway). It doesn't matter that the sonographer pushed down on your tummy during the u/s, theres fat and muscle and amniotic fluid, not to mention the bones of the pelvis, protecting the embryo. Hope that helps.

thanks girls.. i didnt think that there was damage to bub.. just thought that it may have triggered cramps... trying hard to take it easy.. cramps have stopped but come and go so i think your right my body is just adjusting :)
-
i'll let you know that they keep going. af-type cramping comes and go through at least the first tri - i'm still getting them now - it's stressful to say the least!
it will get easier to trust your body over a period of time - but you'll have days where you doubt everything - well, i have!
-
thank u briggsy's girl.. the crampping has subsited over the past few days.. u can feel slight pulls here and there..
my dr sentm e for bloods this morning to check hormone levels and will get me to do another one on wednesday..
but just now i just went to the loo and i had spotting.. about the size of my little finger's nail so tiny.. in umongst mucus.. should i be worried.. should i go to the dr? i have no pain at the moment so i wouldnt think i am M/C.. i know other woman spott right through their pregnancy sometimes..
i know this may sound corny but now that im UTD i really want this buba!
-
keep an eye on the bleeding - it's possible it's old blood from implantation. it's possible your cervix was bruised during the u/s. if it continues call doc for your own reassurance
-
tahnk u.. its stopped nwo and only happed the once..
ive been told by a close friend that i shouldnt be doing any physical activity in the first trimester.. i wanted to do aqua as i love it or walking.. will this do any harm?
-
Amsta re the aqua or walking - were you quite active before you got preg?
Personally I keep exercising all thru preg (although I am v tired atm so finding it hard) - swimming, yoga etc are great as is walking (as long as you dont get pelvic pain later). I would ask your Dr if you are concerned but you should be ok as long as you take it easier, make sure you dont overheat and watch your heart rate.
Some classes (e.g. preg yoga) want you to wait til 14 wks...
But imo if you can remain a little active you are going to feel a lot better. i always felt better last preg if i went for a swim or a walk or did some activity! you need to be fit for labour after all!!
-
thats what i think.. im a pump classer or a rpmer normally (if they are words hahaha) so i have tried aqua once and figured that id give it a go.. since its low impact :) and its three times a week at my gym so i thought that would be great mixed iwth walking on the other days.. i mean i sit down at work every day (property) and i get sick of it.. and carry my weight around my legs so i would love to tone them b4 summer really hits!!!
my cousin was a runner b4 her preg and continued until she was 4 mnths.. then walked.. and her labour was soo much easier because she excersised.. im not suggesting to run or do pump but i thought that i could at least do lower impact stuff.. so now that uve said that ill give it a go tonight hehehehe im excited! xoxox
-
i def believe it helps with labour...
also if you regularly do pump you can sometimes continue with this (maybve ask your dr) with lower weights and some mods... tell the instructor you are preg.
I would stayaway from RPM, as it gets heartrate v high...
-
i will be talking with my dr this afternoon and see what she says.. fingers crossed i can continue most things as usual.. maybe just do one pump class a week with lower weights..
i will defo keep u updated.. you let me know how u go too!
-
ask your dr about the exercise, but usually unless your having threatened miscarriage (which it doesnt sound like ATM) its fine to to the same type of exercise youwere doing, normally at lower intensity or impact.
I started aquanatal classes last monday and I love them.
