DD has been having a dreamfeed for the past couple of weeks. I had re-introduced them and now she is sleeping through the night, will only wake once or twice but settle quickly.
Who else gives their baby a dreamfeed? I'm scared of cutting them out now in case she doesn't sleep through.
how do u do it , dream feed my dd isnt a great sleeper and is around the same age . just wondering?
I give DD a dreamfeed before i go to bed (just wake and feed) but i will eventually cut it out. Does she have a bottle before bed? I would probably just yeh cut out the dream feed and if she wakes try and just resettle.. it may take a few nights but hopefully if you are concistant enough (and shes eating enough at dinner time) then she may not wake. Worth a try i guess?
chez, my DD has never been a good sleeper until 3 weeks ago, we bought a new toddler bed and she went straight in it (was always a co-sleeper before this). i go in around 9.30pm, carry her out of bed into my arms, stick a warm bottle of milk in and off she goes, she keeps her eyes closed the whole time. then she'll drink it all and i put her back in her bed.
kellxx, she has solids at 4pm but only vegetables normally (doesn't like meat much yet and will gag on anything too chunky), bottle at 6pm and then i give a dreamfeed.
just wondering whether i should cut it out...wondering whether she'll wake at 2am for a feed IYKWIM and i don't want this to happen!
I guess only way youll find out is if you give it a go? If she does wake up then youll know tomorrow night to try something else. If that is the case then i would maybe do it by slowly cutting down how much you give her in her dreamfeed.. to the point shes only having 50mls or whatever, then nothing? She may the be able to adjust herself to having none. And if in a few days time she wakes.. just try and resettle her.. lay in bed with her, stroke her hair or whatever... But you will probably find that as she starts eating more solids that she doesnt really need that bottle, its more a comfort thing. I think though once you make a decision with kids, you have to stick to it.. (theyre little spounges who know which buttons to push to get what they want ;) ).
