high chair/booster seat recommendation

Hey my dd is 19 months old and the high chair, which is one of those booster seats that you pop on the dining room chair, is proving to be a little bit high and her legs are starting to touch the bottom of the table. We have adjusted it to its lowest, so thats it. The brand is Summer which we got from baby co and wil be used for the next bub.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to what we can use to boost her up. She doesnt need one with a tray as she eats off the table. Shes just a little...well actually way to short to sit on the chair without something.

I use a Safety 1st booster seat for both my boys. I take the tray off when we use it at the dinner table. It looks a lot like the Fisher Price one which is equally as good from what I've heard.

I bought the Safety first one, but ended up replacing it with the Fisher Price one. The safety 1st one has short straps on the safety harness & it wouldn't fit around my son's tummy! The fisher price one is good (but double the price)

My problem is the distance between the seat and the bottom of our table top. We have one of those wrought iron glass tables (bad with toddlers) and the trim under the table top is starting to hit the top of dd legs. theres not much room for her at all. I would love a different table, but thats not going to happen, so I need the booster to be lower to the dining chair, so she has more space for her legs. When she sits on the sining chair alone, her head is just above the table.

Are the fisher price and the safety first adustable with seat hight? Ours seems quite bulky.

I've got the FP one and yep there are different height adjustments on it...PM me if you would like me to measure it. :D

hmmm not sure I'll be much help here, after reading what your table is like. But we have one of the Phil & Ted ones that attaches to the table & flat packs....though not sure you could attach it to your table from description. But could be worth looking into...it's great & you can pop dining chair behind for extra support.

The Stokke Trip Trap is supposed to be fully adjustable (seat depth and height) and allows them to sit at the table (doesn't have a tray). We are looking at getting one for our DS because it will be used right through beyond toddlerhood. Downside is they are exxy.

We have a wrought iron table too and it sounds a lot like yours, our DS1 who is 4 can still sit in his Safety 1st booster at that table. You'd definitely want to do measurements though.

Laranna- wow thats expensive. they look good though. Maybe I should convince dh on getting a different table, lol. I hate the glass top...gets so dirty....any tips on cracking the glass!!!!

Erin- yeah i wouldnt attatch it to the table.....although it might break the glass.....but wouldnt want to hurt Olivia!!!!

Our chairs are padded so that adds height too. i am looking for something that goes on the existing chair coz we dont have a huge amount of room for a stand alone high chair.

I just remembered another booster seat that is fairly low (I've sold them from time to time). It's called a Valco Kids Kit Hi-Seat. It does come with a tray, but it can be removed. From memory the seat isn't nearly as high as others I've seen. You can see a pic of them on the Baby Bunting website. Click on the "Highchairs" link and then click on the "Portable Boosters" link. :)

Hey Trish...could you do me a favour please?????? Can you do a quick measurement of your safety first booster from the bottom where it sits on the chair to where the baby sits. Thanks if you can.

I have the blue one with a white tray. It is approx. 11.5cm from the bottom part that sits on the chair to the actual seat of the chair (where your DD's bum will sit). It is approx. 20.5cm to the top of the "arm rest" things. I'm not sure if it can be adjusted to a lower height, it looks like it could possibly, but I'm not 100% sure. HTH!

Thanks Trish, mine is 13 cm from the lowest setting....think i'll get the one off ebay!

The ones on eBay are slightly different to mine, but look even lower than mine. I reckon it will be perfect for you!
