ttc 14mnths/ confused...
Hi, I'm ne to this forum but have followed a lot of threads as a non member for quite some time and thought it was finally time to take the leap and register!
I have been ttc for 14months. I have on daughter who is 4 1/2 yrs old. My husband has been tested and his "boys" passed with flying colours. I took my temp which showed signs of ovulating, but month after month of using the Maybe Baby saliva ovulation test showed no sign of ovulating. My GP sent me to see a specialist who told me to come back in another 4months time and that perhaps I should be happy that I have a child already and stop complaining! Nice! I have now just had a day 21 progesterone blood test which has shown I have progesterone, but not enough which suggest no ovulation. Great! My GPs solution.....lets redo the test every month for the next 3 months to see if it changes! Arghhhhhh. I was hoping this would be the test that would decide if I could be given fertility drugs!
I have now gone to another Dr and filled him in on the situation, He has referred me for an ultrasound next week, and referred me to King Edward in Perth. Has anyone been here for infertility problems? If so, some feed back would be awesome.
My health history,. Suffer from depression and taking dothep for it, not overweight, eat fairly well, could probably exercise a bit more. Am wondering about taking something herbal or seeing a naturopath. Does anyone know of a good one south of the river in Perth? or a Chinese Herbalist?
Anyway, hoping to chat to you all some more on this website in the future......

Hi Jojoy
Welcome to Belly Belly. Sorry your post only just went up on the site as it was your first post it was automatically moderated. Sorry if you have been looking for it and any responses.
It is really tough when you are trying and trying and nothing happens. The best thing is further investigations to help work out if anything is going on. I don't understand your doctors flippant remark. Of course you are concerned and have every right to investigate to be able to have another child.
Do you mind if I ask how old you are as age can play a factor sometimes.
I think it is positive they are sending you for a scan and having monthly bloods can give a better indication of what may be going on with your Ovulating. Did you chart your temperature during your previous cycles which can also give you an idea of whether you are O'ing or not?
You may like to post a message on the Long Term Trying to Conceive Area of the forum for women who have been through King Edward or other fertility centres in WA for more info. The forum area is here.
Good luck with it all. Belly Belly is a great place to ask question, get support and feel more empowered about making decisions for yourself.

Welcome to BB, you will find this a great place for information and support.
I used to live in Perth and while I never saw an FS there I did have a wonderful GP in Cottesloe who helped me out with a lot of the initial testing for my infertility including cycle tracking where blood was taken regularly every few days for a month to find out if I was ovulating (turned out I wasn't. Up until then I had been using home ovulation tests and a baby maybe. I have since heard they are not that great and can give false positives for ovulation if you have been eating certain foods).
I hope you get some answers, I have heard many good things about King Edward. Good luck and keep us posted on how it all goes.
