Is my DS Bam bam?
Just wanted to know if DS was a freak of nature or if any other todlers his age are super strong?
He is 13 months and carries around my little weights which would be maybe 2 kgs? He also climbs up onto things by pulling himself up iykwim? He lifts pickle jars with one hand out of the trolley? Is this normal?????
Mum keeps saying he is so strong but are all babies like this or is my DS the real Bam bam? lol!

pmsl... sounds like a normal boy to me hun ;)
Sorry to disappoint you
If its not normal - then mine is bam bam as well..

Euan's not quite 12 months and he pushes a 15kg box of Coke around the kitchen (it's about 4kg heavier than he is). I haven't tried him on pickle jars, but he's pretty strong, always has been. He's been beating me up since he was a newborn LOL.
Perhaps my baby and yours could have an arm wrestling contest, see which one is stronger? ;)

Phew thank goodness for that! Mum goes on about it whenever she watches him! "oh Amber he is sooo strong" i dont feel like i am raisng the next Arnie anymore lol!
Suse bring it on  lol!

My DD was the same. When she was about 10 months old... before she could walk... she was crawling through the kitchen & a 15L tin of paint was in her way (yes it was full!) so what did she do?? She pushed it with her HEAD across the floor lmao. My nephew who was about 18 yrs old at the time saw her do it & she then inherited the name "roids" short for steroids lol. She's been a tough/strong baby/child her whole life. We used to joke that it was from the Zofran medication I was on throughout my pregnancy (due to HG) that gave her super human powers lmao
I was on the medication with DS & he's been lifting his head since he was a day or 2 old & IL's said he's a "roids" baby too hahahaha
I'm thinking its just normal that some babies seem/are strong?
It's funny & always a hot conversation when people see it happening!

Nope! definately not the lone ranger there! I think that sometimes adults don't expect them to do as much as what they do kwim?
-
 Danielle pushing the paint tin with her head lol!
I wont tell mum she thinks he is amazingly strong, might be nice to think her grandson is extra special lol!
-
All grandmas think their grandchildren are the smartest / strongest / most beautiful babies ever to walk (or crawl) the earth - there's absolutely nothing that you can do that would make them think otherwise.
My mum thinks that Euan is the most perfect baby ever and of course the little bugger acts like an angel whenever she is around, turning back into demon child the second she leaves LOL.
-
lol Suse so true! I spose we all like to think our kids are the best hey! Even when they are driving you mad :)
-
lmao suse!!!!! too funny!

My DS is like this but the girls weren't. He also likes to punch things and kick!
-
My DS could lift our vacuum cleaner off the floor at 6m whilst in my arms. It's a DYSON! I struggle to lift it up the stairs (when we had stairs)!
So I say it's normal.
Then again, DS has had a crowd of little girls (pre-school age) all cooing over how strong he is when he lifts and carries quite normal things. Maybe he is stronger than I give him credit for? It is scary what he can lift and carry around these days.
He was holding his head from birth, btw. Which I thought was perfectly normal.
