DD and childcare..
Currently DD1 attends FDC 2 days a week, 930am-430pm. She absolutely loves it and it appears she hates not being able to go should she be sick, carer away or any other reason etc.
I was talking to DH last night and we were saying how she loves to play with kids and at FDC she only has 2 kids to play with and maybe a centre 1 day a week would be good for her as well...bigger setting and more kids, new environment and new activities.
She has been in FDC since she was 5 months old.
Would she benefit from this (2 days FDC, 1 day CCC)?
Or for the moment just leave her in FDC. She will be 2 in 11 days :)

FDC has the advantage of lower kid:carer ratios, but then again CCC has more kids and more interactions! Maybe find a CCC you like and see what vacancies they have - there could be a waiting list for anything more than 1 day a week :)

how about going to playgroup with her, one on one with you, its a only a few hours a week, but i know sophie loves going to her one at the kinder

We have tried playgroup and she wasnt all that keen cos i was there...and she wouldnt go play or do things with the kids....she likes her *alone* time so it seems!

From the sounds of it, I think she'd love daycare. Give it a go and see how she settles in.
Oh, and congrats on finding out it was a boy!!
-
Yeah I'd give it a go... DS goes to one day care once a week - then montessori twice a week, so far no problems combining the two.

Thanks Jodi :)
I think i might look into it for sure then.....she is a social butterfly and loves being out and about with kids....younger or older she plays so well with every kid i know....never rough and is always wanting to get into things, play games, crafts....so i think a centre would help her alot in gaining all that she needs!

I wish you lived closer Kim then she could play with DS - not much age difference between them (oh and of course - we could have a cuppa! lol)

I know Mel..such a bugger this distance issue!

I would leave her in family Day care and the year before she goes to school enrol her into a CCC.
