TT advice!
We have been trying to slowly TT DD, she doesnt really like to wear nappies and is always taking them off, which we thought was a great sign. Anyway she can do all the toileting stuff, EXCEPT wee in the toilet or the potty. She knows when she needs to go and tells us, happily sits on the toilet or the potty all the time, but gets really upset when she actually needs to wee, refuses to do it on the potty or toilet and asks for her nappy. If I say that it is ok to do it on the toilet she gets upset.
Should I just leave her a couple of months and try again, or is there something I can do to help her learn that it is safe to do a wee/poo on the toilet/ potty. I hae tried special stickers, making a happy noise, clapping etc, the few times she has managed to get a few drops out but it doesnt work.
Maybe she just isnt ready, and needs a little bit more time to work it all out.

I would say give it a little more time. It's a very scary thing for them to do a wee in the toilet/potty. It took us 4 weeks to tt Nina, but she wouldn't do a wee in the toilet for the first 2 of those weeks. She was really scared. Once she had done her first wee, she never looked back.
Maybe ease up on tt, but don't stop completely. Every now and then, put some knickers on her and see if she'll go to the toilet.
Good luck.

Ali,
I was going to suggest exactly the same as Jodi. We went through that with Darcy for aggges - well it felt like it lol. So we just kept asking her if she wanted undies, usually she said no, but occasionally yes - but then we'd deall with the accidents cos she was scared of the toilet.
Does she go to daycare? The girls at daycare suggested we send some undies and they'd see if 'peer pressure' worked. They put her in undies after her sleep for the Tues and Wed she was there - by Friday she was totally and utterly TTed. No joke. All of a sudden we realised she was just going herself.
I think the little toilets at school helped too.
Did she pick her undies? My little pony's were a winner for us too ;)
I tired not to make it an issue either, let her decide to do it herself.
Good luck.

Is there something you can do to make them more comfortable on the potty/toilet? I've been sitting talking to Izzy about nothing and will throw in a bit of "wee" talk every now and then. Sorry to hijack your thread Ali but I was actually coming in here to ask exactly the same question as you. I'm finding it a bit frustrating because she definitely knows what is going on but we just can't quite bring the wee and the potty together!
