Bad Back
Just wondering if anyone else had severe back pain after having thier babies. I am told that my back is bad because of a combination of the hormone 'relaxin' loosening up my upper back and my lower back trying to compensate and tightening up. I am going to physio but would also love to hear some other ideas of how to speed up the healing process.

Yes i get this and 13 months on it's worse than ever unfortunatly. I just get regular massages but it only helps while im getting it done.

I have a bad back since having Gemma.I had a c/s but went through 23 hours of horrible labour with back contractions and like Kate I was all belly when pregnant!I was massive!
I walk everyday for 45 mins and do excerises at home which include stretching and weight work and I have found it has helped.I'm not ready to go for a massage or anything yet as the thought brings tears to my eyes still!I still hurt it sometimes and it hurts down my butt to which isn't good butit comes right after a day.

Hi Kazzy
When i was pregnant (unfortunately lost them at 21 weeks) carrying twins and all babies and in the front (and was huge), due to this i had back pain, but not bad enough to really worry about.
6 Months later i have had to go to physiotherapist about another issue, to find out i have slight scoliosis because of pregnancy, it has thrown my back out.
I have been told to do abdominal muscle exercises this will help.
But any that has back pain after pregnancy i would check it out with GP.
