I'm not sure if it's just my 2 but when DD was DS's age (just over 2) she was so much more mature and grown up, not baby like at all. DS however is still like a baby. Looks like a baby, talks like a baby, acts like a baby well not act but just is not mature at all. I look at photos of DD and she looked nothing like a baby. Is it just my 2, or is it that boys are 'babies' for longer than girls are? Even 5 year boys i think still look babyish!
Of course depends on the child, but for a huge generalisation :) I totally agree.
My DD has blown me away with her vocab and drawing etc about 6-12 months before DS did things - he is 5 now and going to school, so he has transformed now with some terrible school talk :rolleyes: Currently it is ?h come on! - just like Lleyton Hewitt LOL
i think you also need to look at where they are in the family..
Mr M is so very clever and talks very clearly (with out bias is a bit ahead of most boys his age) but he was the first child first grand and great grandchild. so for almost 2 yrs he had solid one on one input from every one.
Miss A was second (with a 3rd following 3 weeks latter) she isn't gettting the same quality as mr M did.
but knowing how quick it has gone i have been more willing to let her do things at her own pace rather then push her along(ykwim). but she to is showing signs of great early language skills.(has a vocab of 25/30 words)
But yes there is a difference between the sexes any way. i have just finished reading raising boys and it goes in to it a fair bit there.
DS has always seemed older than he is. I think its more to do with him being our first and only child, and us never really treating him like a baby, always talking to him like we would talk to adults. I doubt it has to do with boys vs girls
