Is anyone else's toddler doing this?

Hehe.. its sorta funny.. but my god its also a PITA..

DS is going through this stage where he drops things.. ie, like his sippy cups, toys whatever, and just lies there - with them in stretching distance from him - and he whinges and whines until one of us picks it up and gives it back to him...

It's pretty funny to see him drop it and then go .. "oh no... milk... whinge whinge.. milk" and start to sob like its the biggest tragedy in the world..

But really a PITA if you are trying to do something else and if he just reached a little he could get it himself!!!!! :wall:

Ummm yes and no DD2 will drop things and used to try the cry but I wouldnt take it so she fast learn that if she didnt get it no one would, this is unless her big bro and big sissy are home where she will just have to let out a tiny waaaa and they come a running :rolleyes:

None of mine did that, but if they dropped anything, theres always another kid here who will just take off with it, so there probabaly not game!!!! :lol:

common, he is seeing just how much you will do for him, so I would stop getting it for him if he can get it himself. Otherwise next you will have a teenager calling out for you to wipe his butt LOL

Sounds like he is testing the waters to see how much you will do for him!

If you can put up with the whinging I would just leave him to work out you won't do every little thing for him!

:rofl: Funny you say that though he's not quite a teen Ds when he was about 6 or 7 used to ALWAY want BHL to take him to the public loo even if I was already going in there with DD... I asked BHL why DS always want him in there and I found out BHL was still wipeing his butt :o I told BHL that he does his own and that has been for at least 2/3 yrs... BHL had no idea and thought I was still wiping DS's butt so when DS ask him to do it thought it was what was done.... Cheeky little bugger was just been lazy :rolleyes: ....

My DS is doing the throwing thing too - execpt its from the supermarket trolley. Last week we found a toy car in the trolley & he threw it once & I picked it up and warned him if he threw it again it was being left where it fell. He threw it again & I left it and one of the staff members chased us to give it back to him!

lol.. well I'm glad its not just my child that is being a cheeky bugger!!!!!

Yeah, it's mostly when Riv's tired, but he'll throw something and then put his hands over his mouth and wail like it was an accident.
We just say 'well, pick it up then sweetheart', and he'll either pick it up, or throw himself on the floor wailing at the injustice of it all. If that happens, we take pity on the tired toddler and suggest a book.
