Can you mix Maca Root with DHEA?

Hi

I have a low estrogen issue during my follicular phase and started taking Maca Root yesterday in the hope of improving this during natural cycles. I know I cannot take it while on IVF. The idea being the maca root is is thought to balance hormones by stimulating the pituatory gland.

But I am also about to start taking DHEA to improve my egg quality/numbers. It is an androgen, affecting our testosterone (I hope I have got this right).

CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME IF THE TWO CAN BE TAKEN TOGETHER, OR IF THEY DON'T WORK WELL TOGETHER, EG, CANCEL EACH OTHER OUT.

Hi Sara :D Thanks for the link. I ended up ringing the pharmacist at the compounding chemist (where my capsules were made) and it turns out it is perfectly ok to mix them.

WTH- can you tell me why you shouldn't take Maca root during IVF? I recently bought some and am starting IVF in Jan! Thank!

Hi Mrs P - sorry to take a couple of days to reply.

I am with SIVF and in their paperwork they request their patients do not take any herbal remedies, including Maca Root. I think the idea behind this is that they want to be able to take complete control of your hormones.
