faint line or evap line?
HELP! I did a f2 orelife preg tests about 4 days ago and both came back with extremely fain tlines about 15 mins after I did them. I then did a discover and it came back neg. Yesterday I did another forelife (it was a 3pack) and it came back 20min later with a fait line slightly stronger than the last 2 then I did a first responce and it came back neg. Im BF 4mth girl and a few mild symptoms. I called forelife helpline twice 1st person said it was pos the 2nd said it was prob and evap line. Can anyone help pls? Im going nuts here.

Most tests are invalid after about 10 minutes. Check the packaging for the time limit during which you need to read the test. I have had false positives after many hours.
Best of luck, I hope it is just a faint positive because you are testing so early, but be prepared for a false +.
:goodluck:

Hi, Thanks. The instructions did say 10 mins, but I did read that sometimes if the hcg is very low then it can take longer to read pos. Im also BF my 4mth old girl, so very hormonal still. Congrats on your first bub too :)

i would think that its a negative because of the time elapsed after recommended waiting time. is your period late? BF can muck around with your AF a bit. test again in a few days time i reckon.

yeah I'd hate to say it but if you have to wait 15-20 mins for that faint second line to appear then I'm guessing they were evap lines (sorry!) With all of my positives I've only ever had to wait about 30 secs to a min, even for my very faint early ones.
Maybe give it a few days & try again?
good luck :)

Thanks!
Has your period returned yet? Do you have any idea how long AF is due again???
I know some women think that if the hcg is low it takes longer to register a positive, but I would still remain cautious until I got a positive within the 10 minutes. I tested with this pg at 11DPO with evening pee, and got a faint positive within minutes, and the blood test at 15DPO was only 56.
Oh... welcome to BB! You might like to join the TTC (trying to conceive) while breastfeeding threads. The women in here are absolutely fab.

Period has not yet returned, my friend fell preggers while BF without a period too. I had really bad cramps on Saturday evening. We werent trying to fall, was hoping to wait till bubs was 9mths

With my boy the pos line came after 20mins, and was def preg. And with my girl 2 days before I was due I got a neg then 5 days later I got a pos, and I was bleeding. I have one strange system!

i remember thinking i may be UTD while i was breastfeeding and had no period return. had a few symptoms etc but always got a negative. i guess all you can do is wait a few more days and test again and if you still think you are you should get a blood test. hope it all works out for you.

I was the same. My AF never returned, I just got pregnant  14 months between my boys.
I got a negative with Jaidan then 10 minutes later there was a faint line. Same with Ashton, the doctor put the test down and said it looks negative then 10 minutes later there was a plus so she said "looks like your pregnant"
So fingers crossed that you get the result you want :)

Oh you sound similar to me - except for the bf bit which I am not. I had bfp but it came up so faintly and after 10 minutes - but I couldn't get it out of my mind so I just bought more tests and did them obsessively every day (bit exxy but then I rationalised that it's a pretty important thing to know)
I ended up getting a stronger and stronger line each time. I am now 15 weeks and worked out that I must have been 2 or 3 weeks when those lines were coming up faint.
I would suggest waiting a week to re-test. (Not that I could contain myself that long but maybe you can??)
Hope you get the result you want.

Does anyone know if BF effects hormones? I thought hcg was ONLY present in pregnancy, not lactating... but I'm no expert.

That's right HCG is only present in pregnancy (or some cancers - but this is rare). Breastfeeding does not and can not affect your HCG level.
