weasel words in the literature
I just thought it was interesting that the literature we come across when reading about VBAC uses a really emotive term like "rupture" which actually includes mostly benign incidences of windows and dehiscences which are of no serious consequence, the term itself sounds very scary. On the other hand, hysterectomy is referred to in some literature as "involuntary infertility", a term that unless you really think about it invokes no emotional response at all, but is actually referring to a hysterectomy as a result of things going wrong. Of course when talking to a woman who wants to a VBAC against hospital/ob advice, they definately use the word hysterectomy, but when discussing the risks of repeat CS (and only if asked) they use the term involuntary infertility.
Am I becoming too cynical.......
