SHould i encourage TT or just put it off for a while

DD has been telling us when she either needs to do a poo/wee or had just done one
She is excited and pulls us to the toliet so she can sit on it and we have a a couple of successes (poos and morning wees from dry overnight)...

my question is should i pursue TT now while she is interested it the whole thing, buy undies and go from there?

What do i do?

put her on every hour? after meals? i just dont know???

ALso she starts day care in 3 weeks for the first time (sort of but it is serious 2 days a week this time)... will it be too much for her and she will regress??

therefore should i not pursue the TT?

If DD was telling me when she was weeing and pooing i'd be giving it a go for sure. Especially as she excited by it all.
If she regresses, you can just forget about it for a while and pick up again when she is ready.

If she is showing interest it is worth a go - but I wouldn't be too disappointed if it doesn't flow straight away cos she is still young.

With regards to the daycare question, if anything she might persist with it due to being around other kids who go to the toilet (hopefully in her age room) - just tell the carers and they will give you a good indication of whether she is ready in their opinion.

Personally, I don't put my kids on the toilet every hour etc - cos I think it then becomes a cue for them to go, so therefore not going when their bodies are telling them to IYKWIM?? However I do remind/nag them and ask them if they need to go.

How about a sticker chart or something like that so she can see how well she does??

Good luck - little girls will often train quicker, but don't be fussed if it lasts for a couple of weeks and then she has no interest again for another 6 months. :)

I would give it a go :) Let her go at her own pace and don't push her.

I agree with the others hun. There's no harm in giving it a shot. But if she doesn't seem to be ready, don't push it. Just go back to nappies and try later. Also, I think day care will really help in that area, as other kids will be using the toilet, and they will probably put your DD on the toilet before meals etc, even if she's not actually tting yet.

As a working mum, I find the Christmas holidays a good time to bite the bullet and go full time undies, especially seeing as it's so warm. So you might like to try it before she goes to day care, while you are with her every day. But no harm if she isn't ready, another few months won't hurt. GL hun, let us know how you go.

my two year old doesn't have the language to tell me that she wants to do anythign. But a few months ago, she started (then stopped) patting the front of her nappy, to tell me (and CCC) that she needed a change.

I'm watching too because DD is quite predictable in her poo habits and will run off into a corner and do a poo if I say "change nappy?". Plus she HATES having her nappy changed and last night was a complete nightmare and I ended up getting poo all over me because she was so wriggly. Ahhhhhh, the fun. Nappies begone!

I would give it ago.. if it dosnt work its ok. DD has been TT for a few months now so since about 19- 20months old (still has a nappy on for he nap and for night). She started bt telling me when she would do a poo or wee in her nappy, then she started taking her nappy off ALL the time when she wanted to go so I thought we would try a potty and we havnt had problem. I really thought she wouldnt get the hang of it but she did and now hates using the potty and will only go on the big toilet.

I have now even taken her to the shops with no nappy on

She will be going to Pre-school 2 days a week from mid Jan and they said if she wasnt TT and when I was ready to start her they would help me.
