Itti Bitti Dlish Snap in One and AIO

I'm thinking of using the Itti Bitti Dlish Snap in One and AIO when my baby arrives in end of March but I wondered has anyone used them? I liked the look of the snap-inones because of drying time and the slim fit. (I used to work in childcare in the uK and some of the AIOs are huge).

This is my first baby and I'm not sure do you buy only trial packs until baby is here to try them out, or do you buy in bulk now (they're on sale and i have 15% off and free delivery coupon).

Even though it's not a bad idea to take advantage of a discount offer, I would suggest waiting until bubs is here. I love my d'lish, but being a front snapping nappy, it is not the best fit on my bub, who is long and narrrow and suits side snapping nappies much better. Otherwise, the d'lish would be my perfect nappy, as it is a slim fit and narrow crotched nappy. Some babies suit wide crotched nappies better. A d'lish would look like a g-string on such a baby. A huge number of people absolutely adore the d'lishes (they are fantastic nappies), but fit is an individual thing and is impossible to pre-empt.

Another thing to consider is that AIOs (especially narrow crotched, slim AIOS) are not the best choice on a newborn - new bubs, especially breastfed ones, are renowned for their explosive poos, and a lot of people find that the d'lish is more suited to older bubs once pootainment is not so much of an issue. Fitteds or prefolds with covers are a great choice for the explosive poo stage.

Also, if you do decide to use AIOs on a newie, you might find that depending on the size of your bub, the smalls will not fit well straight away.

I used Tots Bots Bamboozles (the size 1s are great for newies) from day one, with Thirsties covers. A lot of people swear by Baby Beehinds, although I think they don't always fit from day one. Not sure because I haven't used them myself. And heaps of people love the Motherease Rikki covers. Prefolds tend to be a pretty popular choice for newborns until they start fitting nappies.

Gussetted PUL covers are great with newies - the gussets allow for a nice tight fit around the leg. I also used wool covers (sugarpeas are the bomb in sewn covers, I also use knitted shorties and soakers) for both days and nights, and Maz's fleece covers are awesome (Maz is an MPM here - her store is mazalicious). I didn't use them from birth though - but I did from about three or four months.

ATM I am favouring fitted nappies and flanny flats with covers. I have a few aio's (magicalls and bubblebubs) but have had blowouts from them so I'm glad I didn't get too many.

We do have one small itti and it's too big atm but I have used it due to being desperate due to the rain and of course it leaked. It may be a few more weeks before it fits her without the leg gape and she is 3.67 kilos so not exactly small fry ;)

we have both the snapin's and the AIO's and i don't have any probs with either of them.... BUT my all time faves are Baby Beehinds fitteds with one of Maz's covers :D

I predominately used the Bummis prefold nappy system for my newborn - worked a treat and lasted until he was about 4 months.

I was then able to pick and choose from the trial nappies I'd purchased as to what I would use after. I went mostly for BBH/BBB with covers and pocket nappies for when we were out and about.

I love the Itti Bitti All-In-Ones but they wouldn't be a great choice for a newborn due to the small crotch. They are great later on though because they are so small and fit wonderfully under clothes and their cute as well.

For a newborn I can recommend Cute Tooshies Bamboo Delights, they are a side snapping fitted nappy and they are great with a wool cover over the top. They are not a big nappy and are great for containing poo explosions and are super absorbent. They are a great overnight nappy and they are gorgeous to touch as well as look at.

They're some of my favourite nappies and their one size fits all so you don't have to buy bigger sizes later on.
