Is it ok for husband to be away?

We are expecting our second child in four months, and will likely book in for a planned C/S- based on Dr advice following emergency C/S last time. Problem is that my husbands sister is getting married 10 days before our bubs due date. The wedding is a six hour drive away.
If i have a C/S, it will be approx 7 days before bubs due date (after wedding). However, I am concerned that I may go into labour any time after 37 weeks and need to be rushed in for emergency c/s- as babys are always hard to predict. I dont want my husband to be away for the wedding, just in case bub decides to come- as there is no way he will be able to get back in time.
He is thinking of going.
I feel awful about the thought that he may miss the wedding but am so concerned that bub might come while he is away.
Any thoughts on what I should ask him to do? Thanks for any advice

if there is a possibility you will go early i think you DH should understand (and so should his family).

The other only option is to go with and inspect the hospital in case.

It is very important your DH is there with you! just explain this to him :)

Both my children came early. DD was 1 week, DS 3 weeks. so it is very possible it may happen.
Also i didnt have either of my children and the hospital i was booked into.
DD was born in a major hospital 150km from where i lived
and DS was born at home :)

Christmas this year for us is at my DH Aunties house and its only about an hours drive away but we are not going as its too close to our bubs arrival also. I feel bad but DH has his priorities right as he says that we are his family now and its more important that we stay together and close to home and to hospital. Although I am sure the family think I am a wuss we don't really care. I wont risk it and spend the day stressed out and uncomfortable.
A wedding is a bit different. But I can completely understand your thoughts and its a tough one for him to have to make. But seriously I am sure his family would understand.

well this is only something you and your DH can decide...

BHL missed the birth of DD2 and wasnt able to get home until she was 3 days old... It was hard for me to not have him there but also hard on him....
