Skipping Ropes....
Does anyone use skipping as a part of their exercise? I used to when I did martial arts, but I don't have my leather rope anymore (something my ex boyfriend kept, never understood why!).
Just wondering, probably a bit of a dumb question, which is the best sort of rope to get or does it make a difference? Ie, the plastic ones with the little "T" shaped handles, or the thick leather ones with a 'normal' handle?
Was wondering because I know skipping is good for stamina and other things I think, and I think it would be one of the few exercises I will be able to do at home with the new bub, and cheaply. And (okay, feel free to slap me!) I never minded it when I used to do my training.

I use a skipping rope, for all the reasons you suggest. Cheap, quick, I can do it in the garden when the kids are playing, or when they are napping.
It really gets my heart rate up quickly, and it has forced me to work really hard on my pelvic floor/core muscles too....which is always an 'issue' after three kids, LOL!
I bought mine on special from KMart for $7. It is plastic handles (normal handles) and plastic rope, with a digital thingo in one of the handles that counts your jumps, which is a gimmick I like!
I also use the same style of rope with my personal trainer.......she has a collection of plastic normal handled ones.
I think it would make no odds which style you use.....jumping is jumping at the end of the day?

Jumping is jumping.... well of course it is! How dumb of me! Thanks Lucy.
